* Segways have a top speed of 12.5 mph. We DO NOT limit your speed. Other "unauthorized" Segway tour
Capital Segway has long been one of the World's leading sellers, distributors, and touring managers for Segway, Inc. Now, Capital Segway is joining with Segway, Inc. to become the exclusive Eastern United States seller and distributor of Segway's next generation machines, the Segway Robotics Mobility Platform (RMP) series.
Seeing all the attractions and monuments in Washington, DC can take days. Don't waste time walking extra miles. Take a Segway Tour of DC and cover an entire day's worth of sightseeing in under three hours. You'll glide through the United States capital on a simple-to-use, fun-to-ride, technological breakthrough, Segway PT, exploring historical sites like the White House, Washington Monument, National Mall, Smithsonian Museums, and the Capital Building. And when it's over you'll still have plenty of time to tour even more of Washington, DC.
Even though this tour was only 2 hours and $80, I must admit I liked it even better than City Segway's tour (which was longer only because they stop/park for 10-20 mins at a few sites whereas Capital really never has you leave the Segway).
Capital did most training inside their store (not an alleyway) and then took is across to a park until we all felt comfortable. In addition they use one-way radios with earpieces which City Segway didn't, so I was always able to hear the guide (one recommendation being your own earphones that fit your ear).
I really enjoyed this tour and will definitely take it again. I highly recommend for anyone and challenge you all not to be afraid of the Segway it's safer in many ways than riding a bike!! Thank you Capital Segway! See you again soon!!!
* Segways have a top speed of 12.5 mph. We DO NOT limit your speed. Other "unauthorized" Segway tour companies use the "black key" or use the "turtle" mode, limiting your speed up to 6 mph. The Segways were designed to have fun and we have the MOST fun of any tour in town. Just look at our ratings!
* Each tour begins with a short Segway safety orientation and training session to have you gliding like a pro in no time. You train in a store and a wide-open spaced park, not on a sidewalk or in a Washington, DC alleyway.
