The trains in India are one of the best ways to take in the vast landscape of the country.  Dependin

As of February 19th 2013 I ll be embarking on a 5 month trip around some of the most intense places in the world.  India, Nepal, Burma, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.  As the winter rapidly approaches in Korea I ve taken some time to highlight some of the things I m looking forward to the most.
The trip will begin when we fly from Seoul to Kuala Lumpur princess cruise family children and then head onwards to Kochi, India.  To see how we (Jessica and I) managed to score some ridiculously cheap flights you can read this here .  The actual trip itself has been carefully thought out and planned by the meticulous Miss Wray and you can read about that here .
India has never previously been at the top of my list to visit.  In fact It wasn t too long ago that I was puzzled by the choice of India as a holiday destination last year.  However, things change and so did my mind.  After a substantial amount of research from Jessica and a lot of listening from me we decided to make a trip with India being the first port of call.
The trip begins in Kochi (Very bottom of the map).  The first highlight of the trip is right here.  We will spend a day or two exploring the backwaters of Alleppey on a house boat.  I m sure India is going to be a real eye opener so we aim to calm our minds for a day here before the madness begins.
The trains in India are one of the best ways to take in the vast landscape of the country.  Depending on the class you choose it can also be a luxurious pleasant experience or a combination of poverty, panic and sweat.  I m sure we ll be experiencing both at some point as we are taking the train for the majority of long overland journeys.
After spending 12 hours on the train, we arrive in Goa.  Goa is perhaps the most touristy princess cruise family children place in india primarily because of it s beautiful beaches and relaxed atmosphere.  5 days will be spent in goa and time will be divided between relaxing on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, exploring markets and partying.  Perhaps one of the only places in India where nightclubs are more common.
Mumbai will be brief.  The highlight in Mumbai will be an attempt to get in a Bollywood movie.  Supposedly there is an area in Mumbai where we can meet the Bollywood directors who are simultaneously scouting for foreign folk.  The second day will be spent on set of a Bollywood movie all being well.  Personally, I hope to be in a synchronised dance scene rather than an extra taking a phone call but only time will tell.  The lowlight of Mumbai will be witnessing first hand the poverty, rubbish, slums and begging that trouble the city.
The next highlight is in Jaisalmer (the most western most point I ve made on the India map above).  The Jaisalmer Desert allows for a camal safari, where over a few days we ll get to camp, cook and trek sand dunes via camels.  There will be few other people with us besides the guide and it will provide me with the basic survival skills needed for when I become a rogue like Indiana Jones.
Rathambore is below Delhi and is home to a large national park and wildlife princess cruise family children sanctuary.  Bengal tigers princess cruise family children are an endangered species and extremely rare to see in the wild.  This is just one area of India where Bengal Tigers can be spotted in the wild. Recent tourism bans have seen some parks close, and as a result, prices have been hiked. Despite all of the negatives recently it still remains the thing I m looking forward to the most.
Around March 20th we ll be in and around Agra which means a quick stop off at the Taj Mahal.  The Taj Mahal is rumoured to be closing to tourism within princess cruise family children the next 20 years so although you have a lot of time to get there, future generations might never get to see it.  Regardless, it remains one of the top sights in the world for tourists and travellers princess cruise family children alike and we ll be sure to add to the masses of other happy snappers when here.
After a few days in Delhi we fly to Nepal which coincides with my birthday.  Jessica and I plan on doing a 1 hour flight around princess cruise family children Everest where we ll get to see it in all it s glory.  The flight is pricey princess cruise family children ($180 for the hour) but it s been budgeted and will be booked in advance so won t seem so bad.  Plus it s my birthday.  Please and thanks mum
One thing that really interests me is Tibet.  The way the Tibetans princess cruise family children were banished from their own land and massacred was horrific.  Nepal welcomed them and many Tibetan refugees in exile reside here.  I m looking forward to getting the chance to meet some of the Tibetans who are said to be the some of the nicest people you could meet.    It would be an exceptionally great way to round off the first leg of the trip if we got to meet the Dalai Lama in the process, but that might be like going to England to try and meet the Queen.
Finally, one last thing I m looking forward to (but will probably be sick of the sight of it after a few weeks there) is curry.  Curry is one of my favourite meals and coming from Leeds we have the curry capital of Europe on our doorstep (Bradford).  I m excited to see how different Indian curry is to the kind we have  in the UK.
Thanks, I can t wait! I don t think we ll be able to get into Tibet but Nepal holds most of the exiled Tibetans so I m looking forward to meeting some of them. As for Holi festival, I really don t know how thats going to pan out haha!
