We ve wanted to visit the Hotel Rival Brunch for a while now, but haven t been able to due to vacation, trips, and just poor timing. This time, we went out of our way to visit the Hotel Rival and sample what their brunch had to offer.
The brunch itself carnival cruise is located on the third floor of the hotel. It s a very beautiful boutique hotel in the middle of Mariatorget, and is hard to miss. The interior is very fancy, but don t let the poshness of it throw you off, the staff are really friendly and accommodating. There were even families there with their little ones enjoying brunch.
There is also a balcony carnival cruise available to enjoy and eat brunch on, that overlooks the park. Unfortunately it was a little too windy outside for us to be able to enjoy it, though there were brave souls who did!
There is a wide selection of cold served goodies offered at this brunch. From a good selection of cheeses, cold cut meats, carnival cruise fresh baked bread (from their own in-house bakery), and even bagels! The cream cheese is fluffy and light. carnival cruise They also have a DIY caesar salad section, and other salads such as greek, potato and pasta salad.
The warm selection is small, but does offer some good food. The hashbrowns are excellent. The bacon while looking dark and crispy was rather flimsy. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and smooth. I m sure there is a lot of butter and crème fraîche in them, but it s worth it. They are quite delightful.
Dessert carnival cruise starts off with american-style pancakes. Too bad they were soaking in grease and tasted like, well, something really greasy, rather than actual pancakes. Drowning them in maple syrup and whipped cream helped a bit, but the pancakes were rather disappointing. Stick to Café Sirap or Café Foam if you want amazing pancakes.
Other desserts consisted of a very nice raspberry mousse which mixes both sweet and tangy flavours together, carrot cake, brownies and warm apple crumble all in perfect bite-sized servings so that you could sample multiple dishes. There was also a selection of candy, chocolate carnival cruise balls and fresh cut fruit.
Overall, the brunch at Hotel Rival is good. It is unfortunate it doesn t include drinks outside of water/coffee/tea, as after a drink or 2, it comes close to the same prices as the Stockholm Sheraton , yet offers a much smaller selection of food.. That being said, the food quality was great, and was always being refreshed with new food. The staff is very friendly and professional. This is a brunch I do recommend and can see myself definitely enjoying again.
I m disappointed in the lack of meatballs! The DIY caesar salad was great and I quite liked the lasagna as well. Bite-sized desserts were really yummy. Now if only they d expanded the warm dishes selection a bit and included juices and smoothes, Rival would be great.
