A few weeks ago, my friend Emily and I met up for a girls weekend in Portland, wildwood inn florence kentucky Cannon Beach, Astoria, and Seattle. We picked up a rental car from Sea-Tac airport and were on our way to Portland  in a jiffy. The drive from Sea Tac was about three hours, depending on traffic wildwood inn florence kentucky and road side construction but it took us about 4 hours since we stopped for a late lunch.
Instead of driving directly to Portland, we went to see some magnificent wildwood inn florence kentucky waterfalls wildwood inn florence kentucky along the Columbia River Gorge first. The falls were about 45 minutes east of Portland. We visited Multnomah Falls and Wahkeena Falls .  Both were spectacular. This is a must-see if you are visiting wildwood inn florence kentucky Portland area and have a rental car. We finally checked-in our hotel after 8 PM so most of the restaurants near the hotel were closed. While standing wildwood inn florence kentucky on the corner of walk and don t walk, we stopped a young couple to ask for a restaurant recommendation. They recommended Lúc Lác Vietnamese Kitchen wildwood inn florence kentucky . (835 SW 2 nd Ave., Portland, 97204) You order at the counter, pay, and the staff will seat you. The prices were very reasonable. Emily, wildwood inn florence kentucky whom never had Vietnamese food before, order the grilled pork vermicelli noodles and a small bowl of mussels -steamed with lemongrass-tamarind broth with mushrooms. The mussels were delicious and the broth was very flavorful. Normally, I am not a fan of lemongrass but with tamarind mixed in, the flavors blended well.
I ordered the rolled steak with vermicelli noodles and it was out of this world! The grilled steak was tender and seasoned perfectly. wildwood inn florence kentucky The steak was wrapped with sautéed red bell peppers and onions. Each bowl was served with two crispy rolls. Crispy rolls were Lúc Lác's version of egg rolls. The skin was light and not greasy at all. The meats inside the rolls were well seasoned. My friend thought that Lúc Lác was a great introduction to Vietnamese food.
It is a requirement that if you visit Portland, you must also make a pit stop at Voodoo Doughnut . (22 SW 3 rd Ave., Portland, 97204) Voodoo Doughnut is open 24/7 and remember to bring cash too. I ordered the bacon maple bar and the apple fritter. The combination of the sweet and saltiness of the bacon maple bar was perfect. The apple fritter was a tasty treat as well. Emily ordered a Old Dirty Bastard- raised yeast doughnut with chocolate frosting, Oreo's and peanut butter!  I ate the bacon maple bar right away and three days later I consumed the apple fritter. It was still moist and delicious. The lines can be long in the mornings so be patient because it is worth the weight!
Before we left Portland, wildwood inn florence kentucky we visited the Japanese Garden . (611 SW Kingston Avenue, Portland, 97205) Nestled on 5.5 acres, wildwood inn florence kentucky this Japanese is the most authentic garden outside of Japan. There are plenty of photo opportunities as well. The entrance fee is $9.50. Also, if you have difficulties walking up hills, there is a shuttle bus that will take you to the entrance gate. The garden was so green and very tranquil; a very quiet space to get away from the noise of the city.
