One of LA s most amazing cultural and educational gems is Exposition Park, which is home to the California Science Center, LA Natural History Museum, the two-time gba wta tour tennis codes Olympic hosting Memorial Coliseum (1932 and 1984), California African American Museum, and the stunning Expo Park Rose Garden. Located just a few minutes south of Downtown LA and across from the USC campus, Exposition Park has been getting better and better with each passing year.
Last year was a huge boon to Expo Park (and USC as well) when the brand new Expo Line was completed in April 2012 adding two new light-rail stations to Exposition Blvd, improving accessibility tremendously by allowing Angelenos to get here without a car conveniently. In addition, the California Science Center scored really big when NASA s retired space shuttle Endeavor was successfully delivered to the museum last Sept 2012 as its new permanent and proud home. Now, it s the LA Natural History Museum s turn to shine as it completes a decade-long, gba wta tour tennis codes $135 million renovation project that transforms the 100-year old museum into an indoor-outdoor interactive science learning hub.
This past weekend, the public was treated to a spectacular unveiling of the brand new Otis Booth Pavilion the LA Natural History Museum s new exciting front entrance. The glass-enclosed cube structure, a $13 million gift from the Otis Booth Foundation, is highlighted by a 63-foot long fin whale skeleton suspended from the ceiling in a dramatic diving position. The grand entrance is further enhanced gba wta tour tennis codes by a 3.5 acre Nature Gardens, also new to the museum. Think of it as a really big and beautiful front yard for the museum except this yard is replete with interactive outdoor exhibition and event spaces along with a science field station. Oh, it s a great place for food trucks to park and serve as well.
The six-story tall Otis Booth Pavilion actually has two entrances: the main entrance to the museum connected by a pedestrian bridge and a secondary entrance below the bridge that leads museum goers into a brand new interactive science lab called LA s Nature Lab. This wonderful new addition gba wta tour tennis codes allows both the young and the old to explore gba wta tour tennis codes and learn about the vast and diverse range of creatures that also call Los Angeles gba wta tour tennis codes home. Nature Lab incorporates the newest technologies to successfully gba wta tour tennis codes engage an increasingly tech-savvy generation.
The excitement continues when next month another new permanent exhibition gba wta tour tennis codes called Becoming Los Angeles will debut on July 14, 2013 that will tell the story of how Los Angeles the giant sprawling metropolis came to be through gba wta tour tennis codes the intertwined lenses of culture and ecology. The 14,000 square foot exhibition space one of three exhibition wings connected by the grand 1913 historical rotunda marked by the Three Muses statue joins The Age of Mammals and Dinosaur Hall, which debuted gba wta tour tennis codes in 2010 and 2011 respectively.

The museum has never looked better! Definitely one of the best museums in the county and one of the best natural history museums in the country. The indoor/outdoor experience is awesome and the exhibits are interactive in a way that s interesting to both kids and adults a like. A huge win for the city/county and Expo Park.
The whole experience gba wta tour tennis codes at the grand opening was awesome. Loved the new exhibits and new outdoor gardens. Definitely worth the membership, which includes unlimited visits for a year (including First Fridays). By the way GZA and Devo made the whole experience grander. Can t wait to party and hang out at the museum again soon.
By and far one of the best natural history museums in the country (if not the world). With the addition of the Otis Booth Pavillion (along with the beautiful gardens and new event/exhibit space that accompany it), this has turned gba wta tour tennis codes what was already a world-class museum, into something even more grandeur.
Just to think, that all of these great educational resources in Expo Park are reachable now via Metro rail transit? That s amazing! Who would have thought that was possible in our lifetimes? This is something we can all be proud of as Angelenos as we transition to a more pedestrian-oriented future.
Very exciting! Since my husband enjoys photography very much, I think he ll love the new pavilion and the verdant outdoor spaces. We ve actually never been there ( as we are still relatively new to this city), but I m sure we will be visiting the NHM very soon.
