Understood, but I think you re a bit biased towards some of the other programs. $40k on a Hilton car
The purpose of mattress running agent based business home opportunity travel is to obtain elite status, which comes with all kinds of great perks: Room upgrades, bonus points, free breakfast and wifi, lounge access, and more. Regardless of whether you're someone who travels often or not, having elite status can pay off big even on a singe hotel stay.
Some people don't have the time or resources to go mattress running and for those folks, it's possible agent based business home opportunity travel to obtain agent based business home opportunity travel elite status from credit cards. Below are a few examples of credit cards that either offer instant elite status or offer you the ability to earn it after a certain agent based business home opportunity travel amount of spend:
All three Club Carlson cards offer some level of status simply for holding the card. The Club Carlson Rewards Visa Signature grants Silver status for as long as the card is held, while the Premier Rewards Visa Signature agent based business home opportunity travel and Business Rewards Visa card both offer Gold.
Silver elite members receive food and beverage discounts at properties agent based business home opportunity travel in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia; 25% bonus points on paid stays; 2,000 points for online bookings; free wifi; elite customer service line; complimentary room upgrades upon availability; elite rollover nights, and other perks.
Hilton HHonors Surpass cardholders agent based business home opportunity travel receive Gold status the first year and Silver for as long as they keep the card. Members can maintain their Gold status past the first year by spending $20,000. Those who wish to achieve Diamond status can do so by putting $40,000 in spend on the card each calendar year.
Hilton Gold status is sufficient, offering members complimentary breakfast, 25% bonus points, and additional amenities based on which brand you are staying with. Gold members are eligible for upgrades based on availability, something that I've had a bit of luck with on a recent stay.
Diamond membership is much more lucrative with a 30% point bonus, four annual suite upgrade certificates, complimentary breakfast, welcome amenity at check-in, 48-hour guaranteed availability, and other perks.
The IHG Reward Club Visa offers cardholders top-tier Platinum status as long as the card is held. There aren't many benefits associated agent based business home opportunity travel with this status level, aside from earning bonus points and the ability to match to elite status with another program.
All of three Marriott cards make it possible to earn top tier status solely through spending. Cardholders earn 15 nights towards elite credit each account anniversary. This is enough for Silver status. You cannot combine elite credits from all three credit cards.
Cardholder can earn one additional elite night for every $3,000 spent, with no limit on the number of elite credits agent based business home opportunity travel that can be earned this way. This isn't a practical option, as it requires over $105,000 annual spend for Gold status and $180,000 for Platinum. I don't value Marriott points high enough to put that kind of spend on one of these cards, but that might differ for others.
Marriott Silver elite members receive access to an elite reservation line, weekend discounts at select properties, gift shop discounts, access to elite-only rewards, customized rewards, and 20% bonus points on paid stays.
Gold member receive complimentary wifi and room upgrades (upon availability), lounge access for the member and an additional guest, complimentary breakfast at properties without a lounge, Hertz #1 Gold membership, free local phone call, 25% bonus points, and other benefits.
Both the Starwood Preferred American Express personal and Business cards offer 2 stays/5 nights towards elite credit. These credits can't be combined, so you cannot earn 4 stays/10 nights by picking up a personal and business card. Elite credit is granted annually on February agent based business home opportunity travel 15. The Business version also grants Gold status after $30,000 spent per calendar year.
SPG Platinum members are eligible for suite upgrades at checkin, club lounge access, complimentary wifi, 72-hour guaranteed room availability, and the option to choose breakfast as a welcome amenity.
Additional perks are earned when members complete 50-100 nights agent based business home opportunity travel each year. Starwood also grants elite credit for award stays, so that is another way to complete the additional 8-23 stays/20-40 nights for Gold and Platinum status.
For most low to mid-tier status levels, it makes better sense to have a hotel credit card than to mattress run. While top-tier elite status can be tough to crack with enormous amounts of spending requirements, the elite credit offered for lower levels of spend can make it easier for mattress runners to get their status cheaply.
The Ink Bold is a great business card with generous benefits. Not only does this card currently have one of the highest sign-up bonuses on the market, but earning points is easy with generous 2x and 5x payouts in several daily spend categories.
Complimentary annual airport club lounge access makes up for the $95 annual fee, which is waived the first year. Overall, agent based business home opportunity travel this is an excellent card that can help generate lots of Ultimate Rewards points, which can be transferred at a 1:1 ratio and easily agent based business home opportunity travel redeemed with partners like United and Hyatt.
The terms state that only one set of credits per SPG account apply, despite the number of credit cards the cardholder may hold. Called SPG and Amex to double check and they confirmed: You can t get credit from both.
That s incorrect. I ve had both the personal agent based business home opportunity travel and business SPG Amex cards the past 2 years and receive 4 stays/10 nights credit toward status each year. Maybe it s changing agent based business home opportunity travel going forward, but as of now I get double credit.
I interpreted that meaning if you have two SPG personal cards, then you only get credit once. Since you can get the bonus for both business and personal, agent based business home opportunity travel it seems like they count as different products (or at least are coded differently).
Also, Diamonds trump Gold in terms of upgrades. With Gold being given away it seems, this can come in handy in large hotels with a lot of gold members staying as a diamond, you are going to get upgraded ahead of them.
I m hearing Hilton is stingy with upgrades and that it s not really worth chasing Diamond status with them. Plus, putting $40k on a Hilton card (which equates to just 1 night in a top category hotel) seems like a waste to me when you could be earning agent based business home opportunity travel more valuable point currencies. I get that it might make sense for some.
Understood, but I think you re a bit biased towards some of the other programs. $40k on a Hilton card, yet with Hyatt at $40k you ll only be 1/5 of the way to Diamond. With Marriott, you need $180,000 to get there Hilton is probably the easiest to achieve top-tier level by far. But again, agent based business home opportunity travel your entry is missing agent based business home opportunity travel the biggest benefit of all 48 hour guaranteed room availability, and Diamond agent based business home opportunity travel is the only status that has any sort of guaranteed availability with Hilton. Great for high value vacation properties that get sold out months in advance.
Not so much biased, but I don t see the value in putting $40k on a Hilton card when the points aren t worth much and the status won t get me any confirmed upgrades like other programs do. I understand that it s the cheapest option for getting agent based business home opportunity travel top tier status without agent based business home opportunity travel actually staying at a hotel. It just doesn t make alot of sense for me maybe I am biased.
If people stay at HGI s, Hamptons or ES there isn t much difference other than points. If you are outside the US (or some canada lounges like Montreal) lounge access is great. Something else diamond is great for is if you stay at properties with resort fees, many of them will waive it for diamonds and not golds and this can amount to a $20 a day savings.
Some properties also give diamonds a lot better breakfast. Hilton Atlanta gives a grab/go bag to their golds and won t give lounge access unless they are on the exec level but for diamonds it s 2 full buffet breakfast every morning. Trafalgar is cont. only for golds and anything off the menu for diamonds and Bentley agent based business home opportunity travel miami is full breakfast buffet for diamonds and something like a $10 upcharge for golds and the SF Hilton is the breakfast agent based business home opportunity travel buffet for diamonds and golds get a voucher for 1 coffee, a piece of fruit and a pastry (this property will also give a diamond another voucher to use later at starbucks for a afternoon agent based business home opportunity travel coffee fix).
Suite upgrades are also nice if you can get them. I have gotten a couple great ones lately but I have diamond through stays. A couple properties will give priority to diamonds with a lot of stays over a credit card diamond which is only fair.
Do you mean in terms of booking mattress runs? Generally, hotels generally won t give you credit for those kinds of bookings. However, agent based business home opportunity travel I recently booked a $20/night mistake rate at the Hilton SF through a German booking site. Not only was I upgraded at check-in, but I received elite-credit and over 6,000 points for the stay. There are exceptions to the rule.
