Upon the dawn of this day, a great sun arose in the city of East Lansing. A group of 27 people converged upon the cold dark stone of the Eppley building to embark on a voyage that no man could predict. With the trumpets of the most triumphant business casualness, the young corporate persons began their dangerous venture to the south.
With a man of such high caliber as Bill, the bus driver, not a thing stood in the way of the great bus Starlight and her southeastern passage. As we rode off into the misty dawn, we had full confidence in our networking abilities and our dear Starlight. Onward we trekked many miles for our voyage to South Carolina from the bipolar climates of good 'ol Michigan. golfclub travel case With countless hours upon the voyage friendships began to build faster than anyone could have predicted. As we neared our end to the first day of our voyage we were determined to eat, and at what a better place than Sonic! Craving hunger after a 1 ½ hour wait for our delicious food, yet again the great Starlight pulled out into the misty night. South Carolina vastly arrived and anxiously awaited our arrival. Exhausted and ready to conquer the start of our long awaited trip, the 24 students nestled in their beds to start their next day as the utmost business casual young adults.
The next morning quickly approached and the students awoke to rush down to the lobby to fill their tummies full of scrumptious food. Assembled and ready, our agendas took us to community service activities in which the one group broke off into three. Mowing lawns for the elderly, packaging food, and participating with Meal on Wheels were the three tasks that the students were involved in. A great deed was fulfilled early in the morning, which was only the start of the day! Lunch was served back at the hotel and only 30 minutes of preparation was in store before we had to yet again board Starlight in the classiest business golfclub travel case casualness wear we had in store for our visit with BMW! Arriving in Spartanburg, South Carolina we soon found BMW's headquarters. Anxious and ready to get off the bus, the group assembled into BMW's auditorium and the tour and presentations quickly began. The group was quickly split into two smaller groups in which we would took turns touring the plant and learning more about the company. BMW was definitely a hot spot for many of the engineering students, but also very intriguing for many of the business students as well.
As the day began to come to a close we yet again boarded golfclub travel case Starlight and took off towards Charlotte, North Carolina, where we would be staying for the next two nights. As room keys were passed out on the bus when we arrived in Charlotte the group decided to all stick together golfclub travel case and go out for a "family" dinner. Our first night in Charlotte was mostly just roaming around and figuring golfclub travel case out what we were going to do for the rest of the few days we had in the city.
As the sun arose over the buildings horizon, the students and other group participants were awoken and sent down to breakfast at the beautiful Café Sienna. Upon boarding the Starlight the students counted golfclub travel case off, but there was a problem, a number was not counted off. OH NO! Montazar was missing! Oh where could he be? Perfectly golfclub travel case on time for our departure, he arrived. Onward we went for our next tour to Joe Gibbs Racing located in Huntersville, North Carolina. We were granted with a tour of the facilities and were able to see and learn about how they build their cars for their team as well as how their team operates for races. NASCAR fans such as Kammi and Morgan were very excited for this tour which excited the rest of us, because they were able to explain certain things that the Joe Gibbs team didn't have the chance to answer or also to help us understand better what they were trying to say. Panera Bread was catered to Joe Gibbs Racing for our group, which was very delicious. golfclub travel case It was also quite exciting, because people like Steven and Victor never had Panera Bread before!
Our next stop led us to NASCAR Media Group, which is located in Charlotte, North Carolina, only 5 minutes from our hotel! With our time spent at NASCAR we learned about the many opportunities of employment and internship spots that they offer through marketing, supply golfclub travel case chain, engineering, accounting, as well as other varieties of majors. Touring the Hall of Fame was also a part of tour with NASCAR!
After the tour we then all met up with MSU Alumni golfclub travel case in Charlotte for a social at the Black Finn. The networking event was very well set up and many of the students made excellent connections! The rest of the night after the social was then ours to do whatever we wished to do with it.
An early morning awoke the gang of young businessmen and women to arise and get ready for the tours of NASCAR R D as well as Ingersoll Rand. NASCAR was the beginning of our day, which took us to Concord, golfclub travel case North Carolina. The R D portion was highly looked at and praised by the engineering students who were able to learn about the technical portion behind NASCAR. Touring the facility was quite exciting, because we were able to see how the tests for each car is done as well as learn about the illegal things that many teams do to try to make their cars win.
After the amazing tour of NASCAR the bus was boarded and headed to Ingersoll Rand in Davidson, North Carolina. golfclub travel case Ingersoll Rand was a phenomenal experience for both business and engineering students in the ways of their products, jobs, as well as internships that they offer. When we first arrived at Ingersoll Rand they provided lunch for us and then began to give an overview of the company. They were very accommodating to us and were very helpful. They set up 4 tables in which we were able to talk to 3 of the 4 to gain knowledge and learn more about the fields inside their company relating to our majors. A tour was given and then we were on our ways back to the hotel. Our last night in Charlotte was all ours, and we decided the best way to celebrate was with a "family" dinner once again. Charlotte golfclub travel case will always be near and dear to our lives and friendships we gained.
As the sunrise peaked through our windows, the moment came in which all of us knew it was time to finally board the Starlight and leave Charlotte for Durham, North Carolina, golfclub travel case in which we were headed to IBM. IBM was our last and final company that we were visiting on our Corporate Tour, which was saddening, because we all knew that our trip was coming to a close. IBM provided lunch, which was excellent. The company was phenomenal during their presentation and tour. It didn't matter whether you were a business or engineering major, the company did a fine job of fitting both aspects into their company golfclub travel case presentation. The tour was amazing because they incorporated green technology into it, which is awesome for the new generation like us. There was a Q A session with fellow MSU Alumni that worked for the company that talked about how their lives have changed while working golfclub travel case with the company as well as how accommodating they are to peoples lives changing. IBM was very helpful and kind and many of the students agreed that they would love to intern for them or work for them in the future years!
The night in Durham, our last night all together, had finally golfclub travel case arrived. Dinner was especially in session for us and none other than Nam announced a toast to the amazing tour. See the Southern Hospitality post for more on our adventures on Duke s campus!
The dreaded day has finally arrived, it's time to head back to Michigan, and the Corporate Tour has come to an end. 7 o'clock golfclub travel case departure time from Durham was in store for the students. As we all boarded the bus and said our good byes to good 'ol North Carolina, Starlight decided to have some technical difficulties. We kept on keeping on though and made it to West Virginia where Starlight had finally had enough. We broke down at a truck stop in West Virginia for 6 hours! Although golfclub travel case it was not a good way to end our trip, it couldn't have been a better ending golfclub travel case for all of us either. We were all able to stay together for yet again another full day and become closer with each other as we waited for another bus to come pick us up. After the 6 hours passed, the second bus had arrived and we packed it and boarded to head home. The trip was not as quiet as the trip down, since all of us had a lot of energy and were anxious to get back to Michigan. Rolling into Ohio we were yet again stuck with switching buses for the last time. The last few hours were spent reminiscing about the trip and talking to one another about how we all want to keep in contact and remain friends throughout school golfclub travel case and in the future. Arriving back on campus at 2:30 am on Saturday March 9, 2012 we finally golfclub travel case accomplished our trip. MSU Spring Break Corporate golfclub travel case Tour 2012 will forever be in all of our hearts, minds, and spirits.
