Having never been to either place I am trying to put an itinerary together. My main question is this. We will be in London for a few days then drive around England on our way to Ireland. We will rent a car when we are ready to leave London, drive around England a few days then taking the car what is the best way to get from Wales to Ireland with a rental car. We plan on seeing Ireland a week then bring the car back to London and fly home from there. Any suggestions what would work or even a better way of getting from one point to the other
If you're ef educational tours going via Wales, then are you thinking of the ferry from Holyhead on Anglesey, or further south, from Pembroke? Are you going to the Republic, or Northern Ireland, because there are other ferries to Belfast from more northerly ports.
I should think that the best way is to hire a car from London to the port; cross as foot passengers, then re-hire in Ireland...I'm not sure whether you can take a car from one country to another without permission- and it will probably cost more to ferry the car than just the passengers. Check with a hire firm, such as Hertz.
