Not just any running back, mind you. Ottis Anderson played 14 seasons in the NFL and became the Cardinals' all-time rushing leader before finishing with more than 10,000 career yards. He was approaching the end of his career and playing in New York when Weis was appointed hotel new york city the Giants' running backs coach.
Pacing the front of the Sunflower Ballroom in the Maner Conference Center, Weis touched on his days in the NFL, related his vision for KU football, provided hotel new york city a glimpse into his family life, and stressed hotel new york city the value of high school coaches.
It was then that Weis first learned to splice 16-millimeter film while grading players and scouting opponents. He made sure to enlighten young coaches in the audience about those days while marveling at the advancements made in the digital age.
In the end, that, along with most of the other topics Weis addressed, were part of a recruiting pitch. Hey, any time a college coach is presented with an attentive audience, he must sell himself and his program.
The Jayhawks hotel new york city roster lists 24 Kansans. As for the dispersal of talent elsewhere, Weis noticed players hotel new york city from different parts of the state were at Kansas hotel new york city State, hotel new york city Wichitans were playing at Oklahoma schools, and prospects from the Kansas City area favored Missouri.
hotel new york city "I sense no true state loyalty from either direction," he told his audience. "Kansas wasn't bombarding your schools, and you weren't sending them people in full. ... I want to get to where the people of Kansas are proud of talking about Kansas football."
I agree KU will be better. Charlie is a football coach. A real one this time. But, say he gets them to a bowl game in two years, Weis is gone the next year as he already has noticed he will always hotel new york city be second fiddle to the basketball team and no great head football coach is going to be second to any other sport.....(except Mangino and KU fired him).
Do you realize that if the Kstate football program was at KU they would be second to Kansas basketball as well??? Like I always say, about 90% of college athletic programs would be second at KU to Kansas Basketball......Kstate doesn't compete at a National Championship level year in and year out with any of their athletic teams....KU DOES!!!
Actually "BAB" brought up basketball first(not sure what side BAB represents) but it originated there. Most all posts have addressed football, so I'm not sure what you are reading, or if you can even read. We don't not mind talking football. hotel new york city We don't have a whole lot to say right now as we haven't been very good recently, but we will talk football. We aren't any worse than all the Stater's that were talking football during basketball season.
I'm going to do this again just before the Sept. 1 game, but after attending the spring game, observing who Coach Weis has recruited (especially bringing on QB Crist) - and after observing Coach Weis in his interviews this is my prediction as camp begins (note: back in 07 I predicted that KU would go into the KU / misery game undefeated hotel new york city - kid you NOT). I will have more of a definet prediction by Sept. 1, but it would be a disappointing year if KU wins 2 or less games, hotel new york city but it would be a good year if KU finished 5-7, yet I also believe that it is possible for KU to go 7-5.
It sure is nice having hotel new york city a sport as dominant as KU basketball to "turn to" when another program is struggling! Too bad kstate doesn't have a national powerhouse in anything! You rarely even have a conference title to turn to do you ABE? ha, KU is working on 9 straight!!!!!!!! Great program to "turn to"........HA
While KSU has many other programs that compete at a high level year in and year out.....Football, Baseball, both the mens and womens basketball programs, volleyball, and I am sure I am missing something.
hotel new york city KState baseball was horrible last year. Both KU mens and womens basketball went further in March! Sweet sixteen hotel new york city and runner up. Sure, Kstate football competed last year but hasn't won a bowl game in quite some time. KU had it's down time during the athletic department struggle and Perkins hotel new york city joke but they're on the rise with an AD that will bring big things! Already looking to build a top 5 track/field complex and new soccer stadium in west Lawrence. Will bring big stuff to Lawrence and KU!!!! I wish you got capitol hotel new york city one points for beating KU becuase that's hotel new york city your measure of success out west!
I'm a huge KU fan and wouldn't dare argue with a dummy that has a screenname called "KUcheats".......I'm sure your post is filled with jealousy and little integrity! I guess when you can't win a National Championship you look for another school to put as your screenname and add the word cheats behind it!!! haha, you represent kstate well don't you! So glad you have nothing to do with KUUUUU!!!!!!
Sure did! Can't wait for football season! Sorry KU finished top 25 in both mens and womens capitol one standings while going further in mens basketball(as always!) Can't wait to watch KU go for 9 straight conference titles in basketball this winter and hopefully watch KU football improve. When Kstate wins a National Title or wins back to back conference titles in ANYTHING come talk to me!!! HA
You're clearly more concerned about KU athletics which is just how we like it!!! If KU wasn't good, you wouldn't have a screename like that!! I hope Kstate wins something this year just for your sake!!!!!!! What's the overall record in both basketball and football between KU and Kstate????? Sweet "Rivalry", HAHAHAH
KU basketball OWNS this state! Everybody knows it. #1 thing to do in the state!!! Take a look at the big12 revenue. football usually brings in the big bucks but KU basketball proves that stat wrong!!!! Kstate is at the bottom as far as money making goes......also at the bottom as far as National Titles go. I'm glad you've enjoyed your time as an average at best athletic program with 0000000000000000 titles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
KU had TWO teams finish as a national runner-up this last academic year. The men's basketball team of course and the women's track team placed 2nd in the indoor championships and 4th in outdoor. The men's track team also did well last year and the women's basketball team made it to the Sweet 16. Dr. Zenger has made it clear that he expects the performance of all of the athletic teams to improve and I believe will follow through on that.
Kansas State has a number of very strong and competitive programs as well. And yet with such a performance one wonders why the "little brother" syndrome among certain fans that drives them here to make idiotic comments like those of ABETeacher and kucheats.
ClarkKent, if I missed your posts touting the success of the volleyball team or one of the other "smaller revenue" sports, my apologies. Its refreshing to see another fan who roots for teams beyond the almighty big dollar sports.
