Today is Pi Day March 14 3.14 The day math teachers everywhere celebrate by sharing jobs princess cruise line pies with their students. It will be a very happy day at my school, but alas, I don t work on Fridays, so I won t be there to sample the goods.  Which is a bit sad, as I love pies so especially lovely fruit pies of any variety.  Have you seen the Four and Twenty Blackbird Pie Book ?  You must find a copy.  I ve been working my way through it it s so amazing
Though I ll miss the various sweet pies at school, I was inspired to make a pie for dinner a quiche, that is.  And, given we re launching into St. Patrick s Day weekend, I thought it would be fun to add a few Irish flavors to the mix.
A couple of summers ago, we went on a big adventure to Ireland jobs princess cruise line with another family jobs princess cruise line and our combined seven children. Our party of eleven had a grand time romping around Dublin and the Connemara Peninsula.   We hiked, explored Kylemore Abbey, wandered the beaches, and spent a lot of time driving about marveling at the beauty of the landscape and dodging sheep.  I managed to do some serious damage to a rental car while driving along a particularly scenic and windy route.  (darn it if there wasn t an ancient stone wall under all that gorgeous greenery jobs princess cruise line that I brushed up against I managed to scar every possible panel on the left side of the minivan and take off the side view window.)  I would like to add that I drove for three years in London on the wrong side of the road and never had a mishap.  But I digress
Of course we enjoyed a number of wonderful pub meals in Ireland and ate potatoes in every possible form mashed, roasted and chips.  So when I reflected upon the flavors I d like to include in this pie, I decided potatoes were a must and some lovely Irish cheddar, a touch of bacon and I seem to want to put caramelized jobs princess cruise line onions in every quiche I have ever made, so it seemed silly to stop now
Place three strips of bacon into a frying pan and brown until very crisp. jobs princess cruise line  Remove the bacon, add the butter to any bacon drippings remaining in the pan and then add the onions.  Cook the onions on low heat, stirring frequently until they are a rich deep brown color about 30 minutes.
To assemble, place half the cheese in the bottom of the pie crust.  Layer the potatoes on next, then the onions, bacon, and the rest of the cheese.  Pour the egg mixture over the top.  Sprinkle the quiche with a bit of parsley and freshly jobs princess cruise line ground pepper, and pop in the oven.
Your quiche sounds quite delicious, love the Irish twist you incorporated too! Your auto related mishap in Ireland sounds very familiar to my own it only took 30 minutes on the Emerald Isle for out group to dent our rental, oops :)
I can t tell you how many people jobs princess cruise line I have spoken to who have managed to do some serious damage to rental cars in Ireland seriously tricky driving! At least I didn t hit a sheep :) And it was SO beautiful
How fabulous! I love any egg dishes, really but especially quiche. Nothing quite like having pie (almost) for breakfast, right? Love the ingredients you used with yours caramelized onions have so much flavor, but combined with potato, cheddar, and bacon? A recipe jobs princess cruise line for success indeed. This is going to be a must-try for me :)
It s almost midnight here, and while I m not really hungry I can tell you that if this was sitting jobs princess cruise line in front of me, I d be enjoying a large piece of it right at this very moment. Hello Manion!
