Hilton Garden Inns are franchises; because they each have individual owners, they don t all necessarily look like members of some old cock-a-block generic hotel chain. There is a small fitness center and outdoor pool (no lifeguard on duty), as well as a 24-hour business center and 24-hour Pavilion Pantry for snack bars, sundry items and the like. You know; the usual. However, the Hilton Garden Inn Napa goes beyond the basics and reflects its location at every turn, with comfortable, wide open California interior designs, plenty of vineyard and winery decor, and complimentary wine pours in the weekend evenings.   With one almost comically crabby exception, I found the staff to be beyond friendly and very accommodating. I appreciate that the 3-star hotel was able to impart such a sense of place as this; it isn t often seen in chain hotels at this level.

Grabbing a couple of oranges, apples and bananas before heading upstairs to our room meant my husband and I had healthy snacks at the ready. Also, the big comforters on the beds aren t those standard disgusting heavy bed covers at 3-star hotels, that you know are never washed. They are, instead, part of a crisp white bedding ensemble that are fresh and clean. Seriously: we ve all been at those hotels holidays in egypt egypt andnot tours travel crafts where we don t even want to touch the bed covers to the extent that it takes to pull them off the bed each nigh. These were so much better and the beds are comfortable as well. The beds have self-adjusting Garden Sleep Systems, which allow each side of the bed to be set at whatever level of firmness the guests prefer.
Another giant plus? The Great American Grill. Lots of Hilton Garden Inn hotels have a Great American Grill set up; instead of only having holidays in egypt egypt andnot tours travel crafts the same-old same-old continental breakfast and small breakfast buffet offerings that most other 3-star hotel chains have, the Hilton Garden Inn Napa kicks it up a notch. The Great American Grill has a variety of breakfast menu items, cooked to order, such as crepes and omelettes. I had a cheese and mushroom omelette with hash browns and it was a a great start to a great day.
But the point of a trip to Napa Valley isn t holing up in a hotel room for the duration of your stay. Couples come to this arguably most romantic vacation destination in the US to enjoy wineries and fantastic dining . I had no idea the Hilton Garden Inn was so wonderful we will definitely consider this next time. Auberge Du Soleil is one of my favorite hotels on earth but we can only afford to have drinks there, ha!
