It s that time of year again. Just at the beginning of summer with almost exact timing the Orlando theme parks go up in price. This year though things got a bit interesting. Universal was the first to break the $90 barrier with new tickets costing $92 for a one-day/one-park ticket. Then less than two weeks later came Disney World whose new prices just went into effect June 2, 2013. Here is where it gets really interesting. For the first time ever in the history of Disney World the different theme parks on property southern california travel guide now cost different southern california travel guide amounts. Magic Kingdom, now the only park on property southern california travel guide to feature an afternoon parade, will now cost $95 for a one-day ticket, up $6 from the previous price. The other theme parks on property will cost $90 for a one-day/one-park ticket. Many have criticized the other parks as not offering as much in terms of entertainment or hours. Multi-day tickets are also changing. A 2-Day / 2-Park Pass for Universal Orlando at $166.99 compared to a 2-Day Disney Park Hopper pass at $243. Parking at Disney also increased by $1 per car. Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, arguably the best Disney Parks in the world and some claim the best theme parks in the world, currently charge 6,200 or roughly $62. Disneyland Paris charges roughly 53GBP or $81. Hong Kong Disneyland, which has two of the most recent and many say best rides in decades for Disney, charges HK $450 or roughly $58. Disneyland s prices increased to $92. This now makes every single southern california travel guide theme park in Orlando more expensive than any Disney park outside of the United States.
All of this comes mere weeks after Disney Parks reported an operating income increase of 73% for the first quarter, coming in at $383million. The company as a whole reported a 32%percent quarterly profit increase year over year, coming in at $1.51billion with a revenue increase of $10.55billion.
After Saturday's announcement social media lit up with people noting how confusing the new system and how this in essence is an acknowledgement that the flagship park Magic Kingdom is better than the other parks at the resort. Here are some of those tweets reacting to Saturday's announcement:
