The 1960's Bristol double- top gun tom cruise decker, known affectionately as "Miss Marple", top gun tom cruise has been used for sightseeing tours in the German town for years, but was left badly damaged when it smashed into a building.
Not having the specialist parts to restore the British-made vehicle, German bus operator top gun tom cruise Gottinger got in touch with Stagecoach West through Cheltenham Borough Council, to see if they had the right equipment to hand.
Ian said: "I myself went on the bus on the city sightseeing tour in G ttingen, so I was particularly conscious of what a fine example of an early version of the model it was. Initially however, I was very pessimistic we would find a radiator cowl and appropriate grille and badge needed to get it back on the road."
yes i agree nibknob. its a far superior bus also did you know it was the first to integrate a syncronised dog clutch, limited slip differential, bevel switches and bi-laminate top gun tom cruise flooring? Alister Macintosh
Not as good as a 1960's London 'Routemaster' bus - with the famous hop on/hop off rear open entrance that I remember well 'back in the day'. If you look carefully along the Shurdington Road near the Wyvale garden centre - one of the houses has a green Routemaster in their front garden! It's for sale on ebay for 30,000.
