Here is an amazing 1964 VW Microbus for sale. This is something you almost never see--a completely original VW Split-Window Bus. This is one of the most rust-free, original, unrestored buses I have ever seen. By now most classic VW's have been painted, modified or used heavily over the years. This one escaped all of those fates. This classic VW Bus is in original paint with the original interior and original engine. All that and it is pretty much free of rust. This is an amazing true survivor.
This VW bus was sold new in Greely, Colorado. The original dealer script is still on the back of the bus. Colorado is one of the best states to get a classic car from because they don't use corrosive salt on the roads. The current owner purchased this bus in Colorado in the 1980s and drove it back to Minnesota. cheap airtickets The bus has been garaged and stored winters since.
The patina cheap airtickets on the front of this bus is perfect. And the color combination of Aqua and white is my favorite from the early '60s. The aqua interior is also a classic and in amazing cheap airtickets condition considering its age. Perhaps you remember when these vans were new! There is a seam in the rear seat that has come undone and should be sewn back together, but other than that the entire interior including door panels and seats are in good, original condition. And most importantly the interior is complete.
The bus runs and drives great. The 40hpr engine starts right up and runs perfectly. The dash even sports the original radio. The lights and turn signals all work and it looks like the original keys are still with the bus. There is an area by the driver's side rear wheel that has been bumped, but for the most part the rest of the bus is nice and straight. There are two photo galleries with even more photographs cheap airtickets of every area on the bus below. There are multiple cheap airtickets pages in each gallery so be sure to notice the page numbers towards the top of your screen when perusing through the photos.
cheap airtickets The current owner is the second owner. He bought it from the original owner who bought the car new in Greeley Colorado. The original owner owned (and still owns) a motel in Colorado. The current cheap airtickets owner saw was in Colorado with my VW mechanic (and the current owner's friend) for a motorcycle cheap airtickets race when they saw the bus sitting out in front of a motel. Both of these guys were VW enthusiasts so they had to stop to see if it was for sale. The bus needed a fuel pump at the time so a deal was worked out to buy the bus in as-is condition. The current owner put a used pump in right there in the parking lot of the hotel and drove it all the way home to Minnesota! That was in the mid 1980s. The original owners had also driven the bus from Colorado cheap airtickets all the way up to Alaska and back. That is probably a 6000 mile round trip or more! So that would have been in the late '60s or '70s...
The current owner also told me he has the original owner's manual and tool kit. He also said that the engine work that was done last fall included a rebuild on the original motor (new pistons and cylinders), all new fuel line, new brakes and new steering components. It really cheap airtickets does run, drive and stop like new.
