The usual one-bedroom suite that most guests obtain can be seen from the floor plan here . The room
Whistler is one of my favourite sports rental cars by san antonio airport travel destination in winter as I am an avid snowboarder. While I do reside in Vancouver, it is sometimes enticing to stay one night in Whistler to satisfy the stay requirements for renewal of my SPG Platinum status and in the lull season, there are some pretty good deals at the Westin Whistler. Usually in the end of February and early March, prices for the Westin Whistler can range between C$129-169 before rental cars by san antonio airport taxes which is something I would pay for one night.
As I drove into the hotel s main entrance, I obtained a parking pass from the valet before self-parking the car in the covered underground garage. Having rental cars by san antonio airport stayed here several times before, I have also been upgraded a few times. The usual room is a Studio Suite, though I have always been assigned a One Bedroom Suite when staying in the hotel. This is highly appreciated as it allows for more space to place my snowboarding gear. Usually, it is not easy to get a room assigned upon arrival, but since I was arriving in the middle of the week, I got my upgraded room, and it was a slightly larger room in the East Tower. This would actually be the first time I stayed in a room at this tower. While the rooms might be larger, I prefer the West Tower which has more convenient access to the reception desk and the car park. The East Tower meanwhile is slightly closer to the exit that leads to the Village and the ski lifts.
The usual one-bedroom suite that most guests obtain can be seen from the floor plan here . The room I was assigned this time round has a slightly larger rental cars by san antonio airport bedroom with an additional armchair in the room. In addition to a balcony the room faces the mountains and thus one can get a direct view of the gondolas from the room. Upon entrance to the suite is the round dining table that seats 4 comfortably and a nicely furnished kitchenette that is complete with a sink, dishwasher and a fridge. Cutleries are also provided that makes this suite very suitable for longer duration stays.
The bathroom is located beside the small kitchenette and features rental cars by san antonio airport both a bathtub and a walk-in shower, though the shower is a bit small if I must say. But this is definitely another plus compared to most hotels in Whistler that just feature a tub.
The bedroom, as I mentioned earlier, features a larger square footage with an armchair by the window that overlooks the balcony. It also features a queen bed, a chest of drawers and a closet space. Another TV is located inside the bedroom for guests to use, and this is perhaps the biggest perk for families travelling together. Outside at the living room is a convertible sofa bed, and a gas-powered fireplace which really keeps the place warm in winter nights after snowboarding.
The one bedroom suite is a really nice place to stay for extended durations while in Whistler and as SPG Platinum, I have always been assigned this room when reserving a night in the hotel. During my stay here, I opted for the bonus points instead of the breakfast since I could easily get better food outside at the village. Dinner at Aubergine Grill is also average at best, and I rather prefer Araxi in the Village for steaks. Location wise the hotel is closer to the Whistler Gondola and secluded enough to not be noisy from the action. There is also a ski valet with a $8 charge per ski per day for guests but I have never felt the need to use this service. At the mezzanine level that links the hotel to the Village, there are a couple of art galleries, a Japanese restaurant and some shops selling ski gears.
I was also able to use the swimming pool which has a small indoor section and a larger heated outdoor section. There is also a heated jacuzzi in the indoor section. Though it should be noted the area gets busy after the slopes close and continues to have guests till late in the night. In the night time, it is actually quite comfortable to just lounge around the seats in the lobby by the fireplace. While the Westin Whistler might not have the best dining places in Whistler, it is one of my favourite places to stay while in the ski resort.
