Kim Hunter is a lifelong Detroiter employed in media relations for nonprofits. He has served as Poet-in- Residence in several Detroit public schools through the InsideOut Literary Arts Project. He co-directs the 10-year old Woodward Line Poetry Series. His work has appeared in such publications as Abandon los angeles tourist attractions Automobile, Metro Times, los angeles tourist attractions Triage and more. He has published two collections of poetry.
Michael Delp is a writer of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction whose works have appeared in numerous national publications. He is the author of As If We Were Prey (Wayne State University Press, 2010), in addition to five other collections and six chapbooks of poetry. He teaches creative writing at the Interlochen Arts Academy and has received several awards for his teaching.
Diane Shipley DeCillis is a graduate of University of Michigan. Her poems have appeared in Nimrod International Journal, Rattle, William Mary Review, South Dakota los angeles tourist attractions Review, los angeles tourist attractions Puerto los angeles tourist attractions del Sol, Poet Lore and other journals. She owned an award-wining art gallery in Southfield and Birmingham. Her new book, Strings Attached , is forthcoming from WSU Press Made in Michigan Writers Series in Spring 2014.
Caroline Maun is associate professor in the Department of English at Wayne State University. She teaches modern poetry, women s writing, creative writing, and writing pedagogy. She is the author of Mosaic of Fire: The Work of Lola Ridge , Evelyn Scott, Charlotte Wilder, and Kay Boyle , and editor of The Collected Poems of Evelyn Scott. She has published two chapbooks los angeles tourist attractions of poetry, los angeles tourist attractions and two poetry collections: The Sleeping and What Remains. She is a songwriter los angeles tourist attractions with the pop band Black Hat, which released its first album, Phases of the Sun, in 2009 and its second album, Hooray for Love, in 2012.

Yes, he is deaf (about 90%, due to spinal meningitis when he was an infant), but that certainly hasn t held him back or handicapped him in any way. Second of all, he s not just a "rapper". He s also a prolific drummer, songwriter and communicator.
Mark Levin never let his hearing loss stand in the way of his passion, music and slam poetry. At the age of 12, his mother gave him his first guitar and from there his passion was found. Mark's experience working with numerous music festivals across the country, within los angeles tourist attractions television, and playing in bands has benefitted the Deaf Professional Arts Network (D-PAN) greatly in his role as the
organization's tour and online marketing manager. Mark is also a well-known and respected D-PAN performance poet and a graduate of Columbia College, Chicago, with a B.A. in Arts, Entertainment Media Management with a focus in Music Business.
LaShaun los angeles tourist attractions Phoenix Moore is a Detroit-based vocalist, spoken word artist, activist, event host and wife. Moore's work is infused with her love for the city of Detroit, hip-hop, social justice and love of mankind. Moore has been a lead or background vocalist in some of the nation's hottest music venues, and has worked or shared stages with key national and local performers since 1995. As a spoken-word/Slam poet and poetry host, Moore has had the wonderful opportunity to share stages with The Last Poets, Mic Write, Marc Slam Pappi Smith, Scott Woods,Taylor Mali, Saul Williams, Dead Prez, Mos Def, The Roots. She sat on the Executive Council for Poetry Slam, Incorporated and served as the Event Coordinator of the national poetry slam event, Women of the World Poetry Slam.
Herbert Woodward Martin los angeles tourist attractions is the author of eight volumes of poems including: Inscribing My Name (Kent State University Press.) He has published in a number of American and European journals. He is closely associated with Paul Laurence Dunbar, who was the first African American to gain national and international fame as a poet, and whose work Herbert has performed across the United States. Herbert is Professor Emeritus of University of Dayton where he taught composition, poetry and
creative writing. His new book of poems from The Bottom Dog Press will debut at the Lit Walk. He currently serves as the Robert Hayden/Dudley Randall Centennial Poet in Residence (He was friends with both Robert and Dudley.) He will read poems by

A native of Detroit, Jim Daniels ' new book, Birth Marks , was published by BOA Editions in 2013. Other recent books include the short story collection Trigger Man: More Tales of the Motor City , (Winner, Midwest Book Award), Having a Little Talk with Capital P Poetry , (Poetry Gold Medal, Independent Publisher Book Awards), and All of the Above , all published in 2011. In 2010, he wrote and produced the independent film Mr. Pleasant," his third produced screenplay, which appeared in more than a dozen film festivals across the country, and From Milltown to Malltown (a collaborative book with photographs by Charlee Brodsky), was published by Marick Press. Jaimy Gordon is the 2013 Midtown Literary Walk Guest of Honor. She will close the walk with a special reading and Q A at The Detroit Historical Museum. Ms. Gordon is the author of six books, recently including the National Book Award-winning novel Lord of Misrule (McPherson Co, 2010), set in the world of small- time West Virginia horse racing. The novel was also a PEN/Faulkner Award finalist, won the Dr. Tony Ryan Award for the year's best book about horse racing, and was longlisted for coveted Orange Prize for Fiction. Gordon's novel She Drove Without Stopping (Algonquin, 1990) was awarded an Academy-Institute Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters; and Bogeywoman (2000) was named an LA Times Best Book of the year. Shamp of the City-Solo , her first novel, has long been considered an underground classic by her fans. Her short story "A Night's Work," which shares several characters with Lord of Misrule, appeared in The Best American Short Stories 1995. Her short fiction, poems, essays, and translations have appeared in The Colorado los angeles tourist attractions Review, los angeles tourist attractions Missouri Review, Ploughshares, Antioch Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, and Poetry.
