The pool is indoor and very kid-friendly. Phone: +1 (206) 728-1000 • Reviews • Check Prices Silver Cloud Hotel Stadium – moderate
Great location for Seahawks, Mariners, or Sounders games. (But a little out of the way to see the rest of the city s attractions.) Light rail, a few restaurants, and a family-friendly brewery are nearby. Free shuttle will take guests anywhere in Seattle. Heated rooftop pool and jacuzzi are kid-friendly. King suites are large. As I say, this is a great hotel to see a football, baseball, or soccer game but if that s not a priority then look at the Silver Cloud in South Lake Union . My daughter and I flew from Chicago to Seattle for a 3 day weekend. We used the train shuttle from the airport into the city and back. It was very easy to use and negotiate. We jumped in a cab outside the station which took us to our hotel, the Westin. I m sure we could have walked as it wasn t very far and we had only one bag each.
The Westin was very nice. I won t say 5 star, more like 4, but we had a very nice stay. The pool was nice. The hot tub was too hot the first day, I complained as I m sure other guests must have, and the following 2 days it was perfect. We ate at Serious Pie an artsy sort of pizzeria and had 2 wonderful pies. My daughter, aged 8, is not a fussy eater and she enjoyed the food. Maybe not a great choice if your child is picky. We ate at 3 different places in Pike Place Market , none of which I can remember the name for, but all were very tasty. From the looks of all the places it would seem you can t go wrong as all the restaurants seem to appeal to food lovers. The quality mediterranean discounted cruises throughout the market is high. Prices are not cheap, whether it be for food or apparel so don t be looking for deals. The malls in the downtown area are nice, with upper-class shops, but not huge. Nice to wander around and not feel overwhelmed or rushed. We are not usually Starbucks drinkers but there were so many that we found ourselves at a shop twice a day. Also went to the original Starbucks in the market. Not much to it but my daughter thought it was cool and wrote a postcard home while we drank by the window.
As for attractions, we enjoyed the Science Center at Seattle Center . I have been to better but we can t complain and both enjoyed our 3 hours there. The butterfly exhibit was well done. We did not go up the Space Needle as it was a cloudy day and did not think the views would be worth the expense. We visited the Seattle Art Museum near to the market. mediterranean discounted cruises It was nearing closing time so we only had about 45 minutes but even still it was worthwhile. Would love to go back for a longer look around. The entrance has an interesting collection of cars hanging from the roof which I think most kids will find impressive. Not super kid-friendly however, so maybe it was best we had only 45 minutes and kept moving along quickly. S.T. March 7, 2013 at 10:27 am
The Science Museum at Seattle Center – This is the one everyone has fun at. It s not as good as other science museums we ve been to (eg Exporatorium in San Francisco), but it does the job. The presentations that staff put on near the Dinosaur exhibit are well done and entertaining. There s an imax theater that we ve gone to both times. You re dependent on the quality mediterranean discounted cruises of the movie as to whether it s worth it. On one visit there was a special model train exhibit which was excellent.
The Children s Theater mediterranean discounted cruises – If you can get tickets this is wonderful. We saw Frog and Toad which was wonderfully fun and enjoyed by the whole family. Shows change every few months and the recommended age range can change dramatically. I believe they had a Beatles-related mediterranean discounted cruises show on one visit and it was written with teens in mind.
The Museum of Flight mediterranean discounted cruises – Another winner that appeals to a wide range of ages. It s south of the city and not easy to get to with public transportation (so rent a car for this one). Can get busy on the weekends. If you can swing an early morning visit on a weekday you ll have the place to yourself.
The Seattle Aquarium – A short walk from the downtown core. We love this place. It s smallish but very well laid out. Feeding times are fun to watch so ask about their schedule when you walk in the door.
The Seattle Zoo – Located a few miles north of the city. Easy to get to my bus. Very well designed zoo with elephants, wild cats, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, and penguins. Maybe I should have put this first as it s probably the family s favorite. There s also an indoor play area for younger kids.
We ve stayed at Hyatt Olive 8 both times mainly because I m a Hyatt Gold Passport member. The pool is great, members get free parking, and we ve had free cookies and milk delivered to our room which was nice. Location is good. Fitness center very good. Seattle is a foodie mediterranean discounted cruises paradise. And the best things about the city involve sitting, looking, browsing, watching, and imbibing. The center of it all – even with kids – is Pike Place Market. The restaurants in the market are great, as are the food and shops, and the Pike Place Brewery – all very kid friendly. Stay at the Four Seasons or the Inn at Harbor Steps and live the market. mediterranean discounted cruises I think most of Seattle s tourist attractions are over rated including the nearby Seattle Art Museum which you ll never get me in again. Much prefer spending an afternoon in Le Pichet . Trevi March 8, 2013 at 10:10 am
We stay at the Residence Inn . It s in the South Lake Union neighborhood. Be prepared for some construction as the area is booming upwards. 2 bedroom suites are perfect for families. They have a full kitchen, dishwasher, microwave, cups, bowls, plates, and silverware. The pool and hot tube are kid friendly. There s a free breakfast mediterranean discounted cruises buffet. Trolley stops across the street mediterranean discounted cruises and takes you right downtown and to the malls. There s a nearby whole foods and restaurants are within walking distance. Only complaint is that parking mediterranean discounted cruises is $25/night but still I wouldn t stay anywhere else. Liz March 9, 2013 at 6:23 pm
We always stay at the Hampton Inn (2 bed, 2 bath suites with kitchen are great for families, grocery store and Seattle Center are closeby) or the Residence Inn (near the trolley, the lake, and a park). Both mean you re a little distance from downtown and Pike Place Market but worth it for the money you save.
