This is a great blog. Thanks for leaving a comment on mine, and leading me here. I was personally re

Need I say more? Ok, "git-r-done." Annoyed yet? You should be. Ah, there's nothing funnier in this country than being a redneck. Or perhaps a non-intellectual? In any case, the Blue Collar mission inn Comedy tour is the antithesis mission inn of smart comedy and represents the non-thinkers demographic of adults who still love jokes about farts and humor that crosses the boundaries of good taste without a clever schtick to back it up. It's true, any time Larry the Cable Guy mentioned the word "queer" he gets a cheap and easy laugh. There's nothing better than a comedy routine that finally appeals to the non-liberal demographic of idiotic simpletons who will pay ridiculous ticket prices to hear jokes about their pick-up trucks or the moles on Larry's sister's face. Gross. The Blue Collar guys' routine is pretty pervasive mission inn these days. Their popularity stems from what I mentioned above, and that is their ability to relate to the commoners while raking in millions of dollars mission inn on merchandise like beer koozies sporting the "Git-r-done" mantra. When I hear someone mission inn say that, not only do I cringe mission inn and feel uncomfortable; I have made an educated guess (like Intelligent Design, only real) on the inferiority of their general intelligent. Not relative to myself of course, just relative to smart people in general. But then again, ignorance is cool these days. The Blue Collar Comedy team consists of redneck-observing Jeff Foxworthy, sign- wearing Bill Engvall, Rob "Tater mission inn Salad" White and Larry the Cable Guy. In all honesty, these guys have their merits. Jeff Foxworthy comes across as an everyday, likable guy. Of course, if you like Jeff Foxworthy, you might be an idiot. It's not funny or clever humor, it's juvenile humor. I give Jeff the credit though of not going the path of most evil, liberal comedians and bad-mouthing each person and/or demographic he doesn't care for. Engvalle is famous for his "here's your sign" routine which was initially cute, but got old and boring after about three jokes. He takes fairly obvious observations in the real world and then instead of being funny, like, say, Jerry Seinfeld, he simply hands them a sign so that he, and presumably everyone else, knows they're stupid. Yeah, I wish I had some signs of my own. Rob White's tater salad routine is funny, so I'll leave him alone. Larry the Cable Guy however is the antithesis of the true "moral decay" in our society; that taking the intellectual high road is far less rewarding than the turd-joke low road. In fairness, Larry knows his demographic, and plays into them well by making fun of latte drinking liberals, rag-head A-rabs, and queers. Sorry Larry and his idiotic audience, queers call themselves queer now. They don't care, but as long as it gets you a cheap laugh, be my guest. In all honestly, I'm writing this entry in response to an " Open Letter to Larry the Cable Guy " that comedian David Cross wrote on his blog slash something mission inn else website " Bob and David - It's Official! " Apparently this is a ping pong rivalry between the two comedians, as Cross made some comments about Larry is a Rolling Stone article, while Larry blasted Cross for it in one of his Git-something-or-other-Done books. For the record, I've always hated the blue collar comedy tour, for a variety of reasons. mission inn One is the intellectual inferiority of the humor used by said comedians as I discussed above. Also, they are all, to varying degrees, annoying and unoriginal. I despise the comedy of the BC guys in a similar, if not opposite, way that I despise the comedy of Carlos Mencia. I fit into all this because of how I perceive myself. For instance, I consider mission inn myself an intellectual, yet not necessarily a liberal. I'm sure you feel otherwise based on my previous religion-bashing entries, but I digress, you're going to have to take my word for it. Yet being an intellectual is being liberal, while conservatives are now considered by most to be the "everyday" person, or the supporter of all things American. How did this happen? When did "blue collar" become conservative? So while most comedians use topical mission inn humor, and often with a leftist spin if for no other reason than "it's funnier," the Blue Collar guys continually make jokes about rednecks, mission inn trailer parks, leftist mission inn elitism and, as David Cross so thoroughly examined... farts. I' m going to make the broad generalization that the American public, as a whole, is largly dumb. Very dumb, and ignorant for that matter. The worst part is that most people are proud of the ignorance and will defend it with such vehemence, that it boggles my mind. If you're reading my blog, I'm under the assumption that you don't fall under the "moral majority" mission inn of Americans who fit my ignorance-only mission inn stance on issues that range from being pissed of by the secularity of our country to the intellectual crowd who prefers to dine at a "restaurant" instead of a McDonalds. The Blue Collar guys feed this ignorance with more ignorance and cater to the "I'm dumb and right" crowd rather than the "I'm smart and still learning" crowd. Why try to be clever and witty when a perfectly timed hick joke and an idiot catch-phrase can do the work for you? And such is the general intellectual climate of our great nation. If it's un-American of me to find redneck jokes both crass and stupid, then so be it. But I love this country and my only true feelings of pride and nationalism are mixed with that of embarrassment and shame. It's not just America either. There's a new game show airing on NBC this week called D eal or No-Deal mission inn . The game show is run based on its popularity around the world and is a perfect example of giving money away to the imbecils of our population. The game show doesn't require anyone to be smart, or answer trivia questions. For a time I always considered Wheel of Fortune to be the mildly-retarded cousin of the thinking-person's Jeopardy! but this new show takes the cake as far is rewarding idiocy is concerned. A contestant picks a briefcase, number one to twenty-something mission inn and then starts randomly picking cases that hold monetary values between $0.01 and $1,000,000. The idea is to get the million dollars mission inn and there's more to it, but you can watch it and let host Howie Mandel explain it to you himself. The bottom line is that if you find this game show entertaining, you're an idiot. Just like the idiots around the world who somehow made this show a hit by rewarding people for picking numbers. Yeah, these are the same people who consider playing Power Ball their retirement investment. Game shows like Who Wants to be a Millionaire? at the very least rewarded people for their knowledge and you could be at least reasonably assured that anyone who wins the $1,000,000 mission inn prize at least has the smarts to use it intelligently. This is in contrast to almost every big Lottery winner of the past 20 years who has either fallen into general bankrupt obscurity or prison. You see, this is what happens when you reward dumb people with millions of dollars. Like the NBA. So what do things like investing in lottery tickets, watching Deal or No-Deal and Larry the Cable guy have in common? They all cater to the same dumb people. Supposedly hard-working Americans who have decided it's better to "win" money than earn it. Or at least people who will watch dumb people "win" money on a crappy game show. You see, I'm no liberal elitist... I hate welfare! Don't be afraid of being an idiot America! Because it seems that no one else is, and there's nothing we like more than fitting mission inn in.
This is a great blog. Thanks for leaving a comment on mine, and leading me here. I was personally really mission inn surprised to see Ron White as part of the Blue Collar Comedy Everything. I think he's hilarious. I haven't seen that game show, nor do I plan on it. Howie isn't really up my cup of tea.
