Los Angeles County in Southern California has a population of about 9,889,056. The total population of California is a little over 37 million. That means Los Angeles County, the county that contains Northridge the town  that I live in, makes up about a little over a quarter of the population of the entire state of California.
The percent of persons that are white is 71.8%. The percent of persons that are white and NOT Hispanic is 27.6%. That means about 50% of people that identify as white in addition identify as Hispanic!
Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander Decent is the minority in Los Angeles County, boasting a 0.4% percent of the population. The average travel time to work for people aged 16 and over is about 30 minutes. I expected this statistic to be much higher due to the heavy and ridiculous amounts of traffic that consume Los Angeles and much of that entire area. Thirty minutes is relatively reasonable in traveling to work.
44.7% of people are between ages 14 and 44, while only 5.2% of the population is 75 or older.  About half of the people in Los Angeles County are under 50 while there is a scare amount of people that are elderly.
-  I think facts 2 and 3 are very interesting and truly represent how different California is in comparison to a lot of the states in the county. California is extremely diverse overall, but Los Angeles County as a whole has so many different races and is very diverse culturally.
