Nice job! Especially on the buffet. Well played my friend! I save money on Vegas by not going. LOL!
I managed to find a hotel room, on the strip, thrifty rental car at Harrah's , for $143.03- 3 nights (Tuesday-Friday), all taxes and resort fees included! Our midweek, thrifty rental car off-season timing helped us snag this rockstar price for prime location.
I signed up for the Total Rewards program as soon as we got there, which helped to both save money and accrue points at every Caesar's property. That night we dined at Harrah's own KGB burger thrifty rental car and vodka bar . The burgers were somewhat overpriced, though incredibly thrifty rental car delicious, and still probably one of the better deals on the strip for a sit down restaurant. We stuck to water, which seriously helped with our costs; after all, you can drink in the casino for FREE!
We spent that night and the next two days implementing our cheap drinking/gambling strategy . Play penny machines (slots, poker, whatever) with the minimum bet and while enjoying free casino thrifty rental car drinks. Sure, we probably spent about 10-15 dollars on the machines throughout the three days, but we drank like fish all day every day. Three days of all you can drink for $15- works for me.
Anyway, back to night one. Working in theatre sometimes has its perks; we were able to get free tickets to see the Cirque show LOVE at the Mirage, through a friend working the show. Not only that, our free tickets were upgraded to the third row! And the show was a blast!
The next day we went "hotel hopping"- window-shopping in Caesar's, marveling at the Christmas display and fountains of the Bellagio, and strolling through the menagerie at the Flamingo. All the while implementing our cheap drinking and gambling strategy.
We also sprung for the Buffet of Buffets , which grants you 24-hour access to the all-you-can-eat Buffets thrifty rental car at Harrah's, Paris, Planet Hollywood, The Flamingo, Bally's, and The Rio for $50. We timed it so that we could do Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast, and Lunch again within our 24 hour time limit, making each all-you-can eat meal come out to $12.50! Yeah, that was a good deal, we ate our faces off! (The Rio was our favorite).
I was thrilled with our Vegas budgeting. We didn't win big at the machines (we were playing pennies after all), but we found a way to make our budget work without sacrificing any of the Vegas experience.
Learn to play craps and walk away when you re up. Its the best odds Vegas has (if you play it right) its definitely the most fun (because thrifty rental car you win 49.5% of the time). I have had craps pay for my vacation a couple of times. The key is to walk away when you re up, which is very difficult, because it is so much fun.
I went to a wedding last March and decided not to stay on the strip this time. I was at the Hilton/timeshare hotel and I loved it. If you didn t want to spend money eating out every night, you have a full kitchen with dishes, pot and pans and utensils, this is the place. thrifty rental car My room also had a dining room, living room and jacuzzi and the price was right, $130 a night.
We ve never been to Vegas, thrifty rental car and it s not real high on our list, but anywhere we go we try to do the off-season thing. It s amazing how much money it can save you. Like with eastern seaboard beaches, if you go the weekend before thrifty rental car Memorial thrifty rental car Day you seriously get the same experiences for 50% less without the crowds. So glad you guys had a great time!
I ve never been to Vegas (would love to go someday!) but that buffet deal sounds great! My husband and I do each have a $10 credit to use at our local slots that we should go use before they expire. We went last month, each with $10 credit, and left with about $9 in cash.
Great job on making the most of your money! Vegas is probably the farthest thing in my mind from frugal, but you did an awesome job on keeping costs down and using rewards points to fund your trip. I like that you included the fact that you reached out to friends and scored freebies that way, too. Great travel tip to keep in mind!
Wow thats amazing! Vegas is a cheap option for us too but not that cheap, maybe $700 (im on the east coast of Canada) we would eventually like to go and ill be looking for a deal when the time comes!
When we go to Vegas, the BF s cousin s BF hooks it up with free entrance to the night clubs and pool parties as well as free drinks/food thrifty rental car credits because he s a club manager! It definitely pays to reach out to people.
Nice job! Especially on the buffet. Well played my friend! I save money on Vegas by not going. LOL! Never been a fan. WEll once I went it was on the company dime. That was pretty awesome. I ll be at Christmas it s pretty though!
That s amazing that you spent so little. Ive always thrifty rental car wanted to go to Vegas but I I don t think Ivan fly all the way out there from the east coast just for three days, I d probably have to stay at least a week.
Sounds thrifty rental car like you had a good time and saved a bunch of money. I haven t been to Vegas in years. I went a few years ago for a family wedding and randomly met this woman who was there on business with her husband, who happened to be sick. She invited me to see a Cirque show and hang with her because her husband couldn t leave the room and she had extra tickets. thrifty rental car It was very bizarre, but I basically hung out with this lady and was her friend for the evening and got Cirque tickets and drinks for free. That buffet of buffets sounds ridonkulous in a good way
Sometimes working in entertainment is definitely thrifty rental car awesome. When I went through there a few months ago, several friends had Cirque connections (or were actively working the shows) so we were able to pretty much take our pick and we wound up swapping thrifty rental car tickets with the Absinthe people so a ton of our cast went to see it on the dark night and they came to see our show on theirs. All around, it was pretty awesome.
It sounds like you two had a lot of fun, and for next to nothing! The buffet deal sounds amazing, and of course, who would turn down free drinks at the casino? It s awesome your connections got you two free shows as well.
Oh my gosh. This may be the ultimate save money on a Vegas vacation post! I love all your strategies from the buffet to the rewards program to playing penny slots. That s so awesome you got free tickets thrifty rental car to the show, too! I need to bookmark this post.
Nice work Stefanie! We re going to Vegas next month for my birthday and are funding it all on rewards points at the Bellagio. I ve not heard of the Buffet of Buffets, so we ll definitely have to check that out. We re torn between seeing thrifty rental car LOVE or going to go see the Blue Man Group. I ve always wanted to see Blue Man Group, but we saw O the last time there and absolutely loved it. Regardless, thrifty rental car can t beat drinking in the casino for virtually free.
Great work! The buffet of buffets sounds amazing! I have never heard of that. I also love the fact that you are allowed to drink anywhere indoors, outdoors, etc. in Vegas. I usually find a place to grab some booze/mixers and bring it back to the hotel room and have big ole to-go containers!
