Wanting to know more about Patou’s job, she explained that she cared for children that had been remo

Waking to the sound of the alarm going off I knew it was 5:30am already.  We had to get up and ready, while trying to not disturb Anthony and Ian in the next room.  It didn't take long however and we were in the rental car and on our way to the Airport.  Or at least we thought it was the airport, fortunately the Satellite Navigation system we'd paid a little extra for suddenly paid for itself when it realized we were going in the wrong direction and turned us around.
The second problem occurred when a piece of paper that had specific instructions on where we were to leave the car at the airport suddenly went missing.  For all of Helena's looking she never did find it, so I decided we'd just do the best we could.
Pulling in to the car park, I noticed a big sign announcing 'Car Park 1'.  I did vaguely remember reading that on the now lost piece of paper, so I found a spot, left the car and we raced into the airport.
The next problem came when we had to find the place where the car keys were to be dropped off.  I knew on the piece of paper it described that in detail, but as I followed tampa airport rental cars the signs to the 'Rental Cars', I couldn't find anything for Budget.  Eventually we found a person who pointed at a small box attached to a wall that was the key drop off point for Budget.  Throwing the keys in the slot and scribbling on a piece of paper the location of the car, we raced off to check in our luggage.
The check in process happened very quickly, so we ended up with some time to have breakfast before boarding the plane.  It was a very traditional Glaswegian site to be surrounded by people with their bacon and eggs, washing it down with a pint of beer at 7am.
The flight to Paris went quickly and for Helena thankfully smooth.  She had been looking forward to arriving in Paris for days and was really excited.  Walking for what seemed like miles, though the whole time we were still within the airport, we found the departure point for trains into the heart of Paris.  Here we bought some tickets, then caught the first train to the Paris Nord station.
On walking up the stairs from the metro station, to be at street level, the first thing Helena said was "I'm reminded of Asia", tampa airport rental cars and she was right.  We were in the midst of a street market, in an area that you would hardly describe as affluent and on each gentle gust of the wind, you could smell sewerage.
Only a short walk from the metro station we found ourselves outside the entrance door to a group of flats. tampa airport rental cars The door was right on the edge of the footpath, with no grass or fence separating it from passers by.  According to Helena's instructions that had been emailed to her, we were to ring her once we were at the front door, but now looking at her number it seemed completely wrong, with the preceding tampa airport rental cars seven numbers being all eight.  We tried various combinations of removing numbers and adding zeros.  Finally we had success and I knew we had success, because I could hear the phone ringing tampa airport rental cars through a window just to my left.  In fact, I could have just taken three steps in that direction and put my head in the window, her apartment was that close.  Her name was Patou and was we'd later discover, tampa airport rental cars half Vietnamese and half Senegalese.
She wasted no time in showing us around tampa airport rental cars her apartment and apologized profusely for her poor English, which really wasn't that bad.  Our bed she explained was in the living room, and was a simple mattress on the floor, with a thin curtain and privacy screen, being the only things to separate us from the living room.  This we were told wouldn't be a problem however, as she worked night shifts and slept at work, not at home.  Obviously, finding someone that performed a job, which involved sleeping intrigued me.
Wanting to know more about Patou's job, she explained that she cared for children that had been removed from homes because their parents were neglecting them, or being abusive.  Her job was simply tampa airport rental cars to supervise the kids at night, so while there was the occasional patrol, it did also involve a lot of sleeping.
The metro system in Paris is excellent, trains are never more than two or three minutes away and there are so many stops and different train lines you can quite literally tampa airport rental cars go anywhere in Paris within minutes.  It does have one problem however, as the trains are only ever three carriages long, they can be so crowded that finding a spot to stand, let alone sit down, can't be guaranteed.  We experienced some of this while on our way to Champs Elssye.
Once off the train, we found ourselves with a view of the Arc De Triomphe and a few minutes walk away, the Eiffel Tower.  I've been to Paris before and while seeing the Eiffel Tower a second time isn't as impressive as it was the first time, it still is quite an amazing site to see, as nothing says Paris, or maybe even Europe as loudly as the Eiffel Tower.
Walking along the bank of the Seine we walked past cafes with their seats all lined up pointing out into the streets, as the French prefer to sit, patisseries at one of which, we stopped for a late lunch, before seeing a dog that was so tall it caused Helena to shout "That woman has a donkey".  In fact that dog, an Irish Wolf Hound, might have been the most famous celebrity we've come across so far on our holiday.  I'm basing tampa airport rental cars that on the number tampa airport rental cars of people that were chasing after him with their cameras and mobile phones, tampa airport rental cars to take photos.  He really was immense, tampa airport rental cars I don't know if I've ever seen a taller dog, for he seemed tall even for an Irish Wolf Hound.
Eventually we made our way to the Leuve, which unsurprisingly tampa airport rental cars was very popular.  Deciding that there was no time like the present, we bought our tickets and like so many tourists, went in search tampa airport rental cars of the Mona Lisa.
It didn't take us long to find it, it was where all the tourists were.  I've heard people say that it doesn't look that impressive to see, that it's small, but I don't think any of that matters, it is almost certainly the most famous painting in the world, for reasons that even Wikipedia hasn't quite help me understand, but for that reason alone it's impressive.
We slowly tampa airport rental cars made our way around the Leuve, I say slowly, we were nearly running, but there was just so much to see that it seemed our progress was snail like.  After nearly tampa airport rental cars four hours, with legs aching and only a small part of the gallery not seen, we gave in and headed back in the direction of our apartment.
tampa airport rental cars On returning to our apartment, we met our flat mate who introduced himself, but for all my efforts, I immediately forgot his name.  Once he'd returned to his room, I asked Helena what his name was, but she too had forgotten it.
