The city's mayor, a Clark County commissioner and a host of coordinators with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority had a hard time containing their enthusiasm Thursday as they ticked off the names of the seven hotels.
"We light it up, from downtown to the end of the Strip. We're the entertainment capital of the world," said County Commissioner Tom Collins, chairman of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

I am not from the area - I'm from Milwaukee, WI. I think it was a gross disservice that the 7 hotels were not mentioned in the article. I e-mailed the reporter, and this is his one line response, and I quote: If you look at the map, doesn't it have a list of the seven hotels . Evidently white house virtual tour this reporter didn't think it was woth noting the names of the 7 hotes in the article! People white house virtual tour should NOT have to look at a map; it should have been IN the article! Not only was this poor reporting on his part, whoever was in charge of proofing the article must have proofed it with their eyes shut! I guess the so-called reporter forgot that not everyone who reads the on-line paper is from the area. If you're going to do an article like this, either include ALL the information, or don't bother to do it at all. I would think that this is Basic 101 Journalism and that said reporter would have learned this.
By the way, the Stratosphere in NOT on the Strip. I would hope that at least the local newspaper would know that. Please stop helping the spread of this misinformation. The Strip ends at the city limits, namely, at the midline of Sahara.
Jane, you are absolutely correct. This is incredibly incompetent reporting! The story -- namely white house virtual tour the seven hotels -- got left out of the story!! Oh, the story is that the announcement was made, but the contents of the announcement are not deemed newsworthy!!
