Why not? I know, that's a silly answer! To tell the truth, Russian wasn't my first option. I'm a big

Well, folks, I finally have a new year's resolution. Yes, I know it is a bit late to have one, but if we remember car and rentals andtoronto that most resolutions don't even see the second half of January, I think this is actually the right time to decide on it. At least I can say I went into February...
I have always loved foreign languages and I learned a few of them in my younger years. My mother tongue is Portuguese, so learning other Latin languages, especially Spanish, was very easy. I then taught myself German car and rentals andtoronto and it proved to be easier than it first appeared - except for the Goddamn declinations! Also, people say I have a gift for languages, and if that is true, it's high time I used that gift to learn another one.
Why not? I know, that's a silly answer! To tell the truth, Russian car and rentals andtoronto wasn't my first option. I'm a big fan of the Middle East and I'm often travelling to Morocco and the Gulf countries. My Arabic is appalling, then my natural instinct was to dedicate my time and effort to speak the language properly and make the most of my trips to the region.
Then early last year I took a trip to Moldova , the Ukraine and Russia, and could see how important Russian is outside Russia. Later in the year, I travelled around Georgia , the rest of the Caucasus and Central Asia, where hardly anyone speaks English and Russian is widely spoken as a second language.
Also, most countries in Eastern Europe speak Slavic languages, car and rentals andtoronto and therefore share a common root with Russian - just like my native Portuguese does with Italian and French. Therefore not only is Russian widely spoken in the former Soviet countries, but it is relatively similar to many other languages, making future travels easier.
There's a tricky part to my resolution. I have to accept my reality, so there is no exotic destination car and rentals andtoronto on the cards this time. I decided to learn the language entirely on the internet, on my own, without paying a penny.
I have already been told I'm set to fail. Surely you didn't think that, right? :-) But after all, nowadays we can find absolutely everything on the web, including a whole bunch of language tutorials on YouTube. Motivation may be the challenge.
I started feeling my passion for travel long before I even had the chance to get on a plane for the first time. It walked hand in hand with my interest in foreign languages. When not in my office, I'm on city breaks or on journeys through more adventurous roads, rather than laying by a pool in an all-inclusive resort on Spain's Costa del Sol.
