While in Berlin we toured the city by bike with the awesome guides at Fat Tire. When we learned that Fat Tire operates tours in 4 different European cities we were excited. When the boys learned that anyone completing all four of these tours will get a free t-shirt, they were on a mission.
There are several reasons I love doing bike tours. 1) It is an efficient way to see a lot of a city. 2) We ve got a tour guide that I can pepper with questions. (I ve been known to be a tad inquisitive it s genetic, I think.) 3) At the end of the tour my feet don t hurt. 4) I can pretend it is a workout. (For Jeremy the emphasis there is pretend .) This is important because ramada limiteds inns plaza hotels it provides ramada limiteds inns plaza hotels some justification for all the croissants I ve consumed.
Fat Tire Tour #2 was Paris. We d been to Paris before but the tour reminded us that there s plenty more to see and learn. The tour started just a few blocks from the Eiffel Tower. Our first stop was at Napoleon s alma mater: École Militaire. He was impressive even as a student, completing 3 years of study in 2 years so that he could save money on tuition.
Our tour guide was Justin, an American who is living in Paris while his wife goes to school. I can t remember ramada limiteds inns plaza hotels what he was explaining here. Maybe I should suggest that he carry sidewalk chalk  like Neils did on our Berlin tour.
Here s a place we hadn t been before: Place de la Concorde. This Obelisk was a replacement for a notorious ramada limiteds inns plaza hotels artifact the guillotine. My one criticism of the Paris bike tour is that there were several times we were in the thick of traffic, riding on the road, and it was a bit stressful. (Thomas even said to me at one point, I don t like this! ) The official strategy was for all of us to stick together so that the 20 bikes are about the size of a car and we would dominate a whole lane of traffic. This is easier said than done, but I m happy to report we all survived. (See the sky now? It looked like rain was threatening but thankfully we stayed dry.)
After that advanced traffic maneuver I was happy to arrive in the relative peace and quiet of the Tuileries garden. By relative  I mean crowds of pedestrians instead of automobiles. We ate lunch in an outdoor cafe I had a croque monsieur and Jeremy had a crepe. I think the boys also had something very French like French Fries. I honestly can t remember!
After the Louvre we cycled back along the Seine, stopping at just a few additional sights the Orsay, some bridges, and this building the French National Assembly. Random trivia fact: this is where the terms right-wing and left-wing were coined.
