Space at busy ports is at a premium, and car rental depots usually use a nearby location, often the nearest airport, to service cruise arrivals and departures.  For this a complimentary shuttle is usually, but not always, provided.
Port Everglades is located between cruises around the world Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood and Dania.  Car rentals are serviced at the airport, Alamo provides a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport to the port. To collect your car from Fort Lauderdale or drop off there, just select Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL) when making your reservation.  Dollar provides a complimentary shuttle from its cruise port location at 2400 Miami Road for returning cars only, so select Fort Lauderdale Cruise Ship Only when making your reservation. Collections are made from the Airport. For other car hire suppliers taxis and shuttles have a fixed tariff to and from the airport.
Port of Miami car rentals cruises around the world are served cruises around the world by Miami Airport, with Alamo/National and Dollar/Thrifty both providing complimentary shuttles.  The shuttles leave from the rental car depot at Miami International Airport which is located just off-site and accessed by a monorail between the depot and the airport.  Fixed tariffs are also available cruises around the world for taxis and shuttles between the port and Miami International Airport or Fort Lauderdale Airport.  To use Budget following a cruise, select their downtown Port location, and then you will need to get a taxi from the port itself.  The journey is about 7 minutes, and costs $15.  Budget does not offer a shuttle to either location or the airport, from the cruise port.

Yes, that is correct, the location that serves the port is at the Westin Hotel with a free shuttle to the Port. You may have to call in advance of your return if you wanted to collect from there after your cruise.
