Paris has plenty of bikes. Bike rental stations are all over the city. Lots of Parisians prefer this method of transportation. In comparison to a city like Amsterdam, Paris is not as safe or easy to bike it. Lots of cars, confusing streets and light, and angry drivers. You can manage, of course, but my mother and I decided to take a tour group to be on the safe side.
The office is located a couple blocks away from the Eiffel Tower, but you meet at the tower itself. Decently easy to find we took the metro to the Eiffel Tower stop. They will tell you where to meet before boutique hotels madrid your tour and will lead you back to the office to get the bikes.
We used a company called Fat Tire Bike Tours.   They are awesome! They have both day and night bike tours, segway tours, and walking tours. Every tour is different, so you could do multiple tours on one trip. We did the Night Bike Tour. It took about 4.5 hours. It includes a tour guide who knows the area and a lot of history. You stop for ice cream and get to take a river cruise as well.
