we're flying into Tampa this year b/c of the huge savings over flying into MCO. Car rental prices are also absurd, and my best deal is at off-airport National. Has anyone used National at Tampa, and if so, is the shuttle close, or is it a real production to get to the rental area?
I've only used the National rental that is on the airport property, and that one is in the garage directly across from the airport. You walk across the street to it. Avis is on the airport property as well.
I would keep checking with all the carriers. cruise around the world They change cruise around the world their prices cruise around the world all the time and run specials. We rented a car in June when visiting relatives and changed my reservations 2x to get a better rate. We rented an SUV which offered deep discounts, probably because cruise around the world of gas, but we only filled cruise around the world the tank once.
Love TIA!! I grew up in the town and it's the best airport, everything is close and it's very relaxing to walk through and the rental cars are near too and convenient. You'll also drive through some nice pasture land once you head out of Tampa. As far as the higher rental rate, maybe they just want to add $ b/c they can?? People are flying more than driving I think.
National and Alamo used to keep their cars across the way, but that changed a couple of years ago. You now pick up the shuttle at a door at the far end of the baggage claim area. The signage is good; just follow the rental car signs above that mention cruise around the world National and Alamo. The shuttle takes about 5 minutes and I was out of there 10 minutes after that. Good, well lit facility with covered parking.
