Emily: 25 years ago, I was 3 years old, so I don t remember a lot. I had a very happy childhood with parents who loved me very much. My favorite toys were dolls. My mother grew up very poor and never had dolls, and even though we didn t have much, she made sure to buy me a few dolls of my own. To this day, I still have those dolls saved for my own children.
We never flew anywhere for our vacations , but we did enjoy some happy moments at Sea World and other local amusements parks. Some of my favorite memories of being a kid are going to the park and feeding the ducks, going sledding with my dad, and going for ice cream after school.
Daraius: ~25 years ago, I took my first trip (which I remember) to the UK. My first trip to the UK was with my mom, when I was just shy of 3 months (so I don t see the big deal about infants on planes), to join my dad who was working there. We stayed in the UK until I was ~4, but I don t really remember anything except my blue bunny scooter.
Anyway, ~25 years ago my dad took me back to the UK and it was the first overseas trip which I remember. And it was this trip which set off my love for travel. I m reminded by my parents that I cried when I left (because my mom wasn t coming) rental car phoenix airport and I cried when the vacation was over (because I didn t want to go back home!).
I distinctly remember the strange sounds and smells of London. Walker s Roast Chicken and Shrimp Cocktail chips, cucumber sandwiches, Cadbury chocolates, the quaint little houses, and the Mind the Gap announcements on the tube (subway).
I remember getting rental car phoenix airport bored at The British Museum as my dad took what seemed to be the entire day looking at colored canvases and shiny objects. But I eagerly looked forward to visiting 221B Baker Street (the fictional home of Sherlock Holmes) and Stafford Upon Avon (the home of Shakespeare).
National offered me a Go Like a Pro gift basket (with a National tumbler, a National embossed leather writing pad, a National pen set, a weekend duffle bag and a driving kit) for running this contest, but I d prefer to give it away as a prize.

25 years ago I was starting kindergarten. I made a new best friend named Josh. He went home that first day and told his folks he had met a new friend named Ann, as my name was a little strange for 5 year olds. At school the next day we got it all sorted out, and are still best friends to this day.
25 years ago today I was in Frankfurt Germany getting my first taste of going home to the homeland of my family. I ended up staying there 3 years. Germany is still today one of the best places I have ever been the people were fabulous and I would tell anyone who travels there to skip the hotels and stay in the bed and breakfast. You will have the best breakfast ever and get to spend time with wonderful German families who love entertaining. Also, forget the car, one of the best rail systems in the world. One more thing.. Drink the Beer. OMG Drink the Beer.
I wasn t around 25 years ago, BUT my parents told me one of my first airplane trips I made friends with a woman on the airplane because I peeked over the seat now her and my mom are lifelong friends! #funfact
Frankly, I don t remember 1987, except that I did a lot of traveling. I was 39 years old with a husband, a son, a job and a business. My mom passed away 11/17/1986 and my dad 1/1/1987. My only sibling, a disabled Viet vet, blew his brains out 7/17/1987. A lot of tears, travel and lawyers. That s what I remember about 25 years ago.
25 years ago, I had just landed my 1st real job through campus/on-site interviews while I was a senior at NYU and I was elated. When I joined my job in the summer of that year, I came to realize two things no more winter, spring, and summer breaks only 2 weeks of vacation a year ugh! And, I have to work for at least 45 years before I can retire. Now I have only 20 years left before retirement and I ve earned 4 weeks of vacation a year.
25 years ago I was 4. Somewhere around there, I was riding my big wheel down the drive way into the back yard until I missed and hit the garage door. Fortunately, rental car phoenix airport that has been my only driving accident
25 years ago (1987!!!) I was at the ripe old age of 4. I actually remember a lot of that age very vividly. I grew up in Newark, New Jersey and my family was very poor, but my parents would go without and scrimp and save change throughout the year in order to do an outing or two during the summer. That particular year we got to go to Wildwood Beach for a weekend (my mom, dad, sister, aunt, uncle and cousin all went). That was the ultimate rental car phoenix airport because we normally rental car phoenix airport would only go down to Seaside Heights for a day trip. I remember we ate donuts and had Happy Meals and got ice cream, cotton candy and candy apples on the boardwalk. It rained two out of the three nights we were there, and we didn t even get to go on the beach, but we didn t care. Us kids had just as much fun watching Star Search in the hotel room that Saturday night and pretending we were on the show!
We also got a chance to drive down to North Carolina to pick up my grandmother. She was visiting her family for the summer. The ride took almost 12 hours with stops! On the way we stopped to get Pepsi which were in glass bottles and came out of a vending machine rental car phoenix airport that had a bottle opener built in. That was also the first time I saw a hummingbird. It was eating out of the bird feeder my great grandmother had on her back porch. Being a city kid I thought this was the coolest thing ever! On the way back home we stopped off in Washington, D.C. in hopes of taking a few pictures, but it was 1987 and campaigning was going on for the presidency Michael Dukakis was there giving a speech so the place was packed and everything was closed off. I think we have three pictures of the monument and capital from that day!
Sorry, for the long post, but it s really the first very vivid year I can recall because it was my first road trip and first weekend away from home. Are you sure that was 25 years ago ? It feels like yesterday!
I was in the 7th grade, navigating the rough waters of junior high school in a new community. The only travel I had ever done was visiting family in neighboring states in my parents giant station wagon. Since growing up and having a family of my own, I ve traveled by planes, trains and automobiles, across the country and across the ocean, exploring places in the world that I didn t even know about 25 years ago.
Twenty five years ago: I was 6 years old, not quite in 1st grade! I remember doing a lot of trips to the park, hanging out with my great-grandmother and aunt (not too mention my parents and 2 siblings at that time), and mostly enjoying life!
I was in tenth grade, thought I knew everything and had my future all planned out. I wanted to be six foot tall, retired at 40 and some other thing I can t remember. rental car phoenix airport There is no hope for the first, wish i could remember the last one, it was so important at the time. Oh and I need to apologise to my mother ..sorry mum, you were right!
25 years ago, I was 4.. I remember experiencing my first first class experience when my mother and I were flying rental car phoenix airport back from Florida (visiting my grandparents), and when the ticketing agent at check in asked what our prefer was, I said I prefer the window, but my mom likes the aisle. I didn t realize it until my mom said something, but it was a pretty cool experience..
25 Years I was a avid baseball card collector and was glued to the TV or radio any time a game was on. I was a wiz with stats and keeping up with my favorite players. Now a days I could care less until the playoffs rental car phoenix airport are underway and don t know half of the players names.
25 years ago we were living in Europe. The travel bug already bit and the adventures began well before then and continue today! I hope to have many more wonderful adventures over the next 25 years and the 25 years after that and hopefully a few years after that!
