On a side note most of the book is written by Pimm Jal de la Parra. I m not sure if it says it anywh

The full U2 concert listing including details of every show the band has ever played, from the very early days in Dublin, boutique hotels in manhattan right through to the sell-out Zooropa Tour in 1993. This updated reissue includes information on the band s 1997 Pop Mart tour.
If you are a real U2 freak and want to know the full picture of how the greatest boutique hotels in manhattan band in the world came to be then this book is the ultimate. I only got it today and so far have really just flicked through the pages but I know already that some of the questions that are in my head about the evolution boutique hotels in manhattan of the band will now at last be answered. Matt, your are a genius and obviously a very organized person to be able to collect all this info together and present it so beautifully. It s well worth it s cost and will take pride of place on my bookshelf next to U2 Show,U2 by U2 and U2andI by Anton Corbijn. Top marks for both content and beautiful presentation. But, I ask myself? how am I ever going to find the time to absorb all this information? Marie (Coventry U.K.)
This book is one of the best existing U2 books. Lots of information about U2 s live career, but I think it s a rip off to publish an update with only 5 (!!) Popmart concerts. For people who haven t bought boutique hotels in manhattan this book before I rate it with 5 stars, but for people who have the first edition I would give one star.
This book is an absolute must for fans of U2 and ESPECIALLY for collectors of U2 bootlegs. It s like a bible that charts the correct dates for every show U2 has ever played (up until the 1998 publication.)
The correct set lists and supporting acts are also mentioned for the vast majority of the shows. Also, most shows have descriptions of highlights, lowlights, etc. Want to find out more about the show you re about to buy a bootleg for? Get out this book!
This book was updated shortly after PopMart ended, but unfortunately it seemed very very rushed and therefore there is little to no information about any PopMart shows save for the debut. (Only dates are given.) Nevertheless, it is definite that this book will continue to be updated, hopefully soon with a complete PopMart coverage and then with the whole Elevation tour.
This is far away the best U2 book, have all the information, concerts, tv shows, pictures, old concert poster and tickets. If you are looking for a specific date in U2 days, you find it on this book. buy it!
I ve always loved U2 but after discovering boutique hotels in manhattan this gem of a book which essentially chronicles the history of U2 in diary format helped me to see a personal side of the band that I ve never seen before. I was excited to pick the book up each day and was almost sad when I had finished it.
McGee ignited a deeper boutique hotels in manhattan passion in me for this band, so much so that I have since made sure that I have every one of their studio albums in my collection, joined the U2 fan club and attended my first U2 concert which happened to be the 360 tour.
A chronological masterpiece recording every single U2 performance from their earliest beginnings to the Zooropa tour. Such concert boutique hotels in manhattan details as set lists, boutique hotels in manhattan personal descriptions of each show, photos, and even concert boutique hotels in manhattan stubs are not overlooked. Even the band themselves probably would not remember such details as this book divulges. boutique hotels in manhattan This should be the Bible for any true U2 fan.
If only we all were so lucky to have the time to so completely research and gather U2 concert stories and memorbillia! This book is so fantastic boutique hotels in manhattan it s almost as good as being there, and it keeps interest of even non-U2 fanatics. boutique hotels in manhattan Can t wait for an updated version to include the Popmart tour (hint, hint)- I have a few stories to add to that one.
If you are in a group of hardcore boutique hotels in manhattan U2 fans, and you say, the U2 bible or the Pimm book , they will all know which book you mean. For collectors, bootleggers, and general fans, this is THE book. While Pimm has sadly passed away, well known U2 insider Caroline Von B. has taken over and kept this tradition alive. This is the U2 book that the U2 crew take on the road. Need I say more?
This is the ultimate compendium for the true U2 fan. Not only does it document every single show they ve ever played but it gives a lot of background and behind boutique hotels in manhattan the scenes info on the albums. When I found out this updated version of the book was coming out I got excited and now that I ve received it I was not disappointed!
Diehard U2 fans will want to read this diary from cover to cover, but there s something in here for everyone that s ever heard of the best band in the world. I found myself flipping directly to the pages of 1987 and reading tales of U2 in downtown Los Angeles. boutique hotels in manhattan It was March 27th, 1987, when U2 performed boutique hotels in manhattan on the rooftop of a liquor store on 7th and Main. I remember that day well. Where were you on that day? What shows have you been to? Do you still have your old ticket stubs? U2 A Diary is loaded with information that will take you down a rock n roll memory Lane.
An incredible amount of work has gone into the creation of this day-by-day diary and complete history boutique hotels in manhattan of U2. The author should be awarded best U2 fan in the world. Thanks Matt McGee, for putting this all together. Awesome stuff!
I, like many others, agree that this is the best biographical account of the career of U2 as a live band. Other than listing describing every single U2 concert known to man, it highlights all of the other juicy tidbits in between. I must add that the photos are also very nice. Unfortunately, I cannot give this second edition a full 5 stars because it seems as though it was published too early. boutique hotels in manhattan The stuff on PopMart is only the first five shows, so the PopMart info is virtually nothing special. If you you have the old one, save your money; if you don t, might as well buy this one! I don t know why Pimm couldn t have waited out the rest of the tour.
Hands-down the best book for collectors, fans, completists and trivia buffs. Compiled from thousands of sources by devoted but objective fans, this book is a good read, reference book and very interesting look inside each tour. As a long time collector, I have always heard that if a setlist boutique hotels in manhattan exists in this book, there is a recording of that show, somewhere in the world.
First of all, let me say that overall this is an awesome book. It chronicles virtually every U2 performance from their formation in the late 70 s to the first 5 PopMart shows (in the updated version). I bought the updated book thinking the entire PopMart boutique hotels in manhattan tour would be included. Well it seems that publishing deadlines prevented the author from including boutique hotels in manhattan anything further than the first 5 shows of the tour, so if you re purchasing this book strictly for the PopMart update version prepare boutique hotels in manhattan to be disappointed. Other than that, it is an excellent book, providing set lists and descriptions for every U2 concert in the past 20 years.
Matt has created an incredibly comprehensive document about U2. U2 Diary works not only as a reference work but also as a compelling boutique hotels in manhattan narrative. Well-written and complete, this is a must read for any and all U2 fans.
This is the updated version. The first book that came out covered U2 from their earliest stages up through to the beginnings of the Popmart tour. This one carries us through boutique hotels in manhattan the Popmart tour right through to the end of the Elevation tour. Pretty much every U2 show ever played is covered to some extent, whether it s just with a setlist or a lengthy review. Each tour has a page or so dedicated to an overview and then each show is detailed to some extent. If you re just a fan of the band you ll get a kick out of many of the shows details (the pizza order/delivery from 1992 being fantastic). If you re a collector of shows this book is to U2 fans what Deadbase or those Tapers Compendium books are to Grateful Dead fans. It s either a lot of fun to read or a rich source of information. Just a blast.
On a side note most of the book is written by Pimm Jal de la Parra. I m not sure if it says it anywhere but apparently he had passed away during the creation of this updated version. A few people boutique hotels in manhattan had gotten together to finish it off for him. They most certainly boutique hotels in manhattan did him proud.
I ve been a long time reader of Matt McGee s fan blog [...] (which BTW I visit more often that U2 s official website because the written content is often better) as well as a long time fan of Matt s writing so I was excited when I found out he was going to put his extensive knowledge about my favorite band into a full-fledged book. The results are outstanding.
Matt s research was thorough and incredibly accurate the pictures are a delight, many of which were never before printed. It s the most comprehensive chronology I ve seen so far and believe me, I ve seen them all (and own most of them).
A must buy for the uberfan, but also a lot to offer the casual fan who wants to visit different seasons in the band s history at their own pace. Besides boutique hotels in manhattan U2 by U2 I don t think there s a better book about U2 out there.
