The Hotel del Coronado is celebrating its 125th year! Every time we get to go there can be a fun experience, and since we go to the Del more often than any other hotel, we are constantly finding new ways to enjoy San Diego s most famous landmark.  Donna K, who has worked with us for seven years, has been to the Del hundreds of times.  Her advice gives great insight into what this hotel has to offer families visiting San Diego:
The beach is a great place to explore. Sand dollars are more in abundance hotels in mesa arizona in the early mornings. The rocks can be a fun hide seek place for older kids. Comes with a drink dessert too! They used to honor that to- go also, but last time I tried it they told me it was only for dining-in. Still beats room service (that doesn t have drink/dessert included costs more). I have never had a problem ordering from the kids menu. I always let them know I m with Marion s Childcare I tip 20% unless the parents instruct otherwise.
You might want to take older kids who ve been talking about the ghost past room 3227 . A housekeeper told me if the room isn t occupied, you can ask for the key at the front desk they ll let you peek inside. I haven t tried it. (Thankfully, it was occupied when the curious boys I had around late Oct. wanted to see it.) I do not bring this subject up unless they ask. I have had children that were actually freaked out about being at the hotel after watching the programming about it on the Hotel Del TV channel. I ve reassured them that I ve never seen her in the hundreds of times I ve been there, nor have I met anyone else who has either.
If you need to drop off or pick up kids from Kidtopia , it s located in the same enclosure as the main pool. You need a room key to get into the pool area. (Always hotels in mesa arizona a good idea to get a room key anyway, in case of a fire alarm going off, etc. Yes, it has happened!)
If you re new, it s helpful to know that the room number tells you what building you ll be in/where you should park. If the 1st # is 2, that s the Beach Villas. Check in at Windsor hotels in mesa arizona Cottage park in the lot that is on the left after turning right at the light on Adella- just before the Hotel s main entrance.  A 3 is the main Victorian building. 4 is for the poolside building 6 is the Ocean Towers. Unless you re in the Villas, park in the main lot. When it s pretty full, usually there s a spot or 2 all the way down to the left of the Ocean Towers. The next number of the room # tells you which floor the room s on (doesn t apply to Villas- you ll need a key to get in the gate have them show or tell you where the room is. It can be confusing. It s also a good idea to give yourself an extra 15 min. to get to the guest s door if going to be in the Villas.)
