It s a fabulous way to absorb the atmosphere in a hotel that has been a Paris destination for socialites, celebrities and European royals since its beginnings in 1816. The original hotel opened in Place Vendôme but after closing in 1916, moved to its current address in the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.
I was invited into the "Jardin Français" – the hotel s tea salon. It s not a real garden, as the name implies. Rather, travel news it is an elegant travel news  room where you can share a cosy moment with friends, in sumptuous surroundings where a pianist plays in the background.
I've experienced many tea salons in Paris but  this is a world apart. As a lover of Chinese tea, Le Bristol has the best, including the finest green teas exported from China and India all over the world, in fact.  It s served in the hotel s pretty porcelain teapots and cups, with a bold B on each one.
The biggest travel news thrill is choosing a cake or a pastry from the trolley. It s towering with choices.  I ordered a  tarte aux frambroises (raspberry tarte), though I dreamed of a taste of everything! There are three layers: a buttery biscuit base, a creamy mousse  and fruity "frambroise" jelly on top. Yes it was as delicious as it looked.
The service is so welcoming. Waiters with broad smiles happily describe each cake making your decision a little easier. It s one of the most  wonderful experiences in Paris when you want to feel spoiled, travel news chic and experience true luxury.
