It might be helpful to read Geoff Schultz blog /log. He documents his Down East Circle Route experie

We are planning on doing the Down East Circle Route in 2011, and already have Cheryl Barr's book.  We are looking for recommendations on up-to-date Pilot books/cruising guides that will fill in the gaps - especially Maine to New York.  Can anyone advise please are there are some on sale that are very old and out-of-date?
"The Down East Circle Route" is an interesting book but it leaves a lot to be desired as it s designed for a power boat that can do 10 knots. She lays out how you can do this the Down East Circle rome luxury hotels Route in 45 days (if you average 60 miles per day). On a sailboat making about 6 knots that would be about 10 hours of moving every single day. Spreading this out into 90 days still requires 30 mile days - tough to do given delays. More realistic as a 5 month trip.
by Rumsey. I believe that this is out of print and the copy that we had was from 1995. Sue found it difficult to follow, but it provided a lot of information. This ends at Sorel, rome luxury hotels which is just past Montreal.
It might be helpful to read Geoff Schultz blog /log. He documents his Down East Circle Route experience. He completed the trip on a 40' Freedom sloop. Sounds like you should be prepared for a lot of motoring. I think I would take a break and stretch out the sails when I got to Lake Ontario, if your schedule permitted.
