@TahreyUK: No rental Mustang is a manual. And available torque has NOTHING to do with reverse speed. The Town Car has a 2.73 rear axle ratio, vs the likely 3.31 in the Mustang. Hence the higher reverse speed.

Mustang engine may be smaller, but it still may be tuned for power at high revs rather than cruising gently (partly why it s louder), and mated to a much sharper transmission (possibly manual instead of a TC auto, less slippy TC if auto, certainly lower ratio = more torque available at the wheel in 1st (see how the towncar did 60+ mph in reverse) etc). Also, less weight on the back. Results such as this aren t unique to this video.
