Introduction midtown madness 2 downloads For decades, American consumers have relied on the availability and accessibility of credit and debit cards to purchase consumer products and services on the assumption that they were fully and fairly aware of the consequences of their purchases. Most consumers were under the mistaken belief that credit card companies accurately depicted and truthfully represented credit terms, interest rates, fees, and costs. However, 800 billion dollars of credit card debt later, Americans midtown madness 2 downloads are realizing that credit card companies have sneakily and deceptively turned consumers' naivety into a "cash cow" of profit.i Accompanying the companies' misleading tactics was an industry void of regulation, allowing these companies to wage a large assault on consumers' gullibility without the fear of being punished or prosecuted.ii In May 2009, Congress introduced the Credit Card Accountability and Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009 (the "Credit CARD Act") to regulate the timing and manner of collecting credit card fees as an initial solution.iii midtown madness 2 downloads However, this original solution was attacked by credit industry leaders, as well as criticized by consumer rights advocates for still allowing credit card companies and banks to engage in deceptive and misleading tactics.iv This article highlights a number of traditional deceptive tactics midtown madness 2 downloads that credit card companies routinely employed before the passage of the Credit CARD Act of 2 2009, as well as reveals the impact of the Credit CARD Act on the credit debt crisis. Finally, this article offers proposed solutions to reduce the risk of unfair and misleading tactics by credit card companies. II. The Problem: Deceptive Tactics of Credit Card Companies midtown madness 2 downloads Credit card companies have traditionally employed a variety of deceptive or misleading tactics against consumers to maximize their profit and revenue from cardholders. These companies would routinely charge costs and fees for opening a credit card account directly to the credit card, thereby deceptively reflecting the amount of credit actually available to the consumer.v Credit card companies would also immediately raise interest rates on credit cards once a monthly payment became overdue – even if payments were made one day late.vi Many credit card lenders would engage in a tactic known as "slamming" or "loan packing," in which the lenders would sign consumers up for "protective measures," such as credit insurance, without ever disclosing this fact to the consumers or without midtown madness 2 downloads the consumers midtown madness 2 downloads ever agreeing to it.vii Banks historically midtown madness 2 downloads have used a tactic called "universal default," in which credit card agreements included a provision that the bank could raise interest rates on a consumer's credit card even if the consumer was late on other payments due, such as utility bills, cable bills, or car payments.viii A common tactic that credit card companies employed is to receive a consumer's payment and apply it to the loan with the lowest interest rate, so that the company can keep charging the higher interest midtown madness 2 downloads rate from the other loans.ix Lenders also allowed purchases midtown madness 2 downloads over the credit limit, and then raised interest rates and placed the negative information on the consumer's credit report, even if the purchase had only gone over the credit limit by one dollar.x Banks also routinely changed due dates so people would pay late, and the banks simply hid the disclosure of the new due date somewhere in the plethora of pages of the credit cardholders' agreements.xi Credit card companies and banks developed a new tactic midtown madness 2 downloads in which consumers were charged fees for having a $0.00 balance or for "inactivity."xii Consumers are actually charged fees for paying midtown madness 2 downloads off the entire balance of their credit card and for not making any purchases on the credit card for a certain 3 period of time. Furthermore, credit card lenders would solicit consumers with attractive low introductory interest rates and Annual Percentage Rates that eventually ballooned to very high rates early in the term.xiii Exhaustive research reveals courts have consistently held that credit card companies can unilaterally change or modify the terms of the credit card agreements, as long as companies provide some form of notice to the consumers.xiv Most noticeably, credit card companies targeted low-income consumers and collected fees based upon a "minimum payment calculation", in which companies would disclose a "minimum payment" due, but did not disclose related penalty fees. This forced low-income consumers continually into default midtown madness 2 downloads and unable to remain current midtown madness 2 downloads on their credit card payments.xv Using a number of these tactics, credit card companies and banks would further target consumers who were clearly unable to make payments, and therefore collect fees and raise interest rates on these "subprime" consumers.xvi Considering the long history of deceptive tactics employed by credit card companies, consumers demanded that Congress midtown madness 2 downloads improve the regulation of credit card tactics and restrictions on credit card disclosures. III. The Initial Solution: The Credit CARD Act of 2009 In May 2009, Congress enacted midtown madness 2 downloads the Credit CARD Act of 2009 to regulate the timing and manner of collecting credit card fees. xvii The Credit CARD Act amended midtown madness 2 downloads the Truth in Lending Act (TILA).xviii TILA's primary purpose was to ensure meaningful disclosure of credit terms so consumers could compare available credit terms, midtown madness 2 downloads avoid the uninformed use of credit, and to protect the consumer against inaccurate and unfair credit billing and credit midtown madness 2 downloads card practices. xix Under the Credit CARD Act, credit card companies are required to comply with new restrictions and regulations, and are prohibited midtown madness 2 downloads from engaging in the deceptive tactics mentioned above. Specifically, the Credit CARD Act prohibits retroactive rate increases and declares that a "universal default" provision is now illegal.xx The Credit CARD Act also requires credit card companies to no longer increase interest rates on existing balances, except when an account is 60 days past due or if 4 it already carries a variable interest rate and the accompanying index rate changes.xxi Credit card companies midtown madness 2 downloads may no longer allocate a consumer's payment above the minimum payment in a manner that maximizes interest rates.xxii Additionally, midtown madness 2 downloads the Credit CARD Act must give 21 days between the date a bill is mailed and the payment due date.xxiii Credit card companies and banks must abide by the limits within the Act on how large a penalty fee can be, and credit card companies are prohibited from charging fees that are more than 25 percent of a subprime credit card's line of credit.xxiv Finally, the Credit CARD Act contains other prohibitions and restrictions against credit card solicitations and marketing credit cards to college students.xxv midtown madness 2 downloads Early research revealed that the Act has reversed much of the unclear pricing on credit cards that for years misled consumers into believing they paid less for credit card debt than was actually true.xxvi midtown madness 2 downloads The CARD Act also revealed that interest rates paid on credit cards have fallen in the last year.xxvii In fact, the Credit CARD Act shows that not only did interest rates decline between 2009 and 2010, but also that the credit card fee income was flat.xxviii Opponents offer the strong argument that implementation of the Credit CARD Act will lead to higher rates imposed by banks and more difficulty for consumers to obtain credit. However, a counterargument shows that this is because people mistakenly view higher rates on mail solicitations and other offers midtown madness 2 downloads as a price increase. In reality, though, the credit card offers now just more closely match actual costs. Prices remain relatively level, but consumers now have a better understanding of the price differenc

There is another question which although not necessary for the above analysis to hold is still intri

A common objection to the moral hazard explanation of the financial crisis is the following: Bankers did not explicitly factor in the possibility of being bailed out. In fact, they genuinely believed payless rent a car that their firms could not possibly collapse under any circumstances. payless rent a car For example, Megan McArdle says : I went to business school with these people, and talked to them when they were at the banks, and the operating assumption was not that they could always get the government to bail them out if something went wrong.  The operating assumption was that they had gotten a whole lot smarter, and would not require a bailout. And Jeffrey Friedman has this to say about the actions of Ralph Cioffi and Matthew Tannin, the managers of the Bear Stearns fund whose collapse was the canary in the coal mine for the crisis payless rent a car : These are not the words, nor were Tannin and Cioffi's payless rent a car actions the behavior, of people who had deliberately taken what they knew to be excessive risks. If Tannin and Cioffi were guilty of anything, payless rent a car it was the mistake of believing the triple-A ratings.
This objection errs in assuming that the moral hazard problem requires an explicit intention on the part of economic agents to take on more risk and maximise the free lunch available courtesy of the taxpayer. The essential idea which I outlined at the end of this post is as follows: The current regime of explicit and implicit bank creditor protection and regulatory capital requirements means that a highly levered balance sheet invested in safe assets with severely negatively skewed payoffs is the optimal strategy payless rent a car to maximise the moral hazard free lunch. Reaching this optimum does not require explicit intentionality on the part of economic actors. The same may be achieved via a Hayekian spontaneous order of agents reacting to local incentives or even more generally through natural selection payless rent a car -like mechanisms.
Let us analyse the natural selection argument a little further. If we assume that there is a sufficient diversity of balance-sheet payless rent a car strategies being followed by various bank CEOs , those CEOs who follow the above-mentioned strategy payless rent a car of high leverage and assets with severely negatively skewed payoffs will be selected by their shareholders over other competing CEOs . As I have explained in more detail in this post , the cheap leverage afforded payless rent a car by the creditor guarantee means that this strategy payless rent a car can be levered up to achieve extremely high rates of return. Even better, the assets will most likely payless rent a car not suffer any loss in the extended stable period before payless rent a car a financial crisis. The principal, in this case the bank shareholder, will most likely mistake the returns to be genuine alpha rather than the severe blowup risk trade it truly represents. The same analysis applies to all levels of the principal-agent relationship in banks where an asymmetric payless rent a car information problem payless rent a car exists.
But this argument still leaves one empirical question unanswered given that such a free lunch is on offer, why don t we see more examples of active and intentional exploitation of the moral hazard subsidy? In other words, why do most bankers seem to be true believers like Tannin and Cioffi. To answer this question, we need to take the natural selection analogy a little further. In the evolutionary race between true believers and knowing deceivers, who wins? The work of Robert Trivers on the evolutionary biology of self-deception tells us that the true believer payless rent a car has a significant advantage in this contest.
Trivers work is well summarised by Ramachandran : According to Trivers, there are many occasions when a person needs to deceive someone else. Unfortunately, it is difficult payless rent a car to do this convincingly since one usually gives the lie away through subtle cues, such as facial expressions and tone of voice. Trivers proposed, therefore, that maybe the best way to lie to others is to first lie to yourself. Self-deception, according to Trivers, may have evolved specifically for this purpose, i.e. you lie to yourself in order to enable you to more effectively deceive others. Or as Conor Oberst put it more succinctly here : I am the first one I deceive. If I can make myself believe, the rest is easy. Trivers work is not as relevant for the true believers as it is for the knowing deceivers. It shows that active deception is an extremely hard task to pull off especially when attempted in competition with a true believer who is operating with the same strategy as the deceiver.
Between a CEO who is consciously trying to maximise the free lunch and a CEO who genuinely believes that a highly levered balance sheet of safe assets is the best strategy, who is likely to be more convincing to his shareholders and regulator? Bob Trivers work shows that it is the latter. Bankers who drink their own Kool -Aid are more likely to convince their bosses, shareholders or regulators that there is nothing to worry about. Given a sufficiently strong selective mechanism such as the principal-agent relationship, it is inevitable that such bankers would end up being the norm rather than the exception. The real deviation from the moral hazard explanation would be if it were any other way!
There is another question which although payless rent a car not necessary for the above analysis to hold is still intriguing: How and why do people transform into true believers? Of course we can assume a purely selective environment where a small population of true believers merely outcompete the rest. But we can do better. There is ample evidence from many fields of study that we tend to cling onto our beliefs even in the face of contradictory pieces of information. Only after the anomalous information crosses a significant threshold do we revise our beliefs. For a neurological explanation of this phenomenon, the aforementioned paper by V.S. Ramachandran analyses how and why patients with right hemisphere strokes vehemently deny their paralysis with the aid of numerous self-deceiving defence payless rent a car mechanisms.
Jeffrey Friedman s analysis of how Cioffi and Tannin clung to their beliefs in the face of mounting evidence to the contrary until the threshold was cleared and they finally threw in the towel is a perfect example of this phenomenon. payless rent a car In Ramachandran s words, At any given moment payless rent a car in our waking lives, our brains are flooded with a bewildering variety of sensory inputs, all of which have to be incorporated into a coherent perspective based on what stored memories already tell us is true about ourselves and the world. In order to act, the brain must have some way of selecting from this superabundance of detail and ordering it into a consistent belief system , a story that makes sense of the available evidence. When something doesn t quite fit the script, however, you very rarely tear up the entire story and start from scratch. payless rent a car What you do, instead, is to deny or confabulate in order to make the information fit the big picture. Far from being maladaptive, such everyday defense mechanisms keep the brain from being hounded into directionless indecision by the combinational explosion of possible stories that might be written from the material available to the senses. payless rent a car However, once a threshold payless rent a car is passed, the brain finds a way to revise the model completely. Ramachandran s analysis also provides a neurological explanation for Thomas Kuhn s phases of science where the normal period is overturned once anomalies accumulate beyond a threshold. It also provides further backing for the thesis that we follow simple rules and heuristics in the face of significant uncertainty which I discussed here .
The selection argument provides the rationale for how the the extraction of the moral hazard subsidy can be maximised despite the lack of any active deception on the part of economic agents. Therefore, as I have asserted before , we need to fix the system rather than blaming the individuals. This does not mean that we should not pursue payless rent a car those guilty of fraud. But merely pursuing instances of fraud without fixing the incentive system payless rent a car in place will get us nowhere.
payless rent a car Thanks David I hadn t heard that acronym either! But it does ring true. Shifting potential losses into the future is a popular strategy for many agents, not least politicians Greece probably being the best example.
Thanks Michael your idea in the linked post of better disclosure mitigating the principal-agent problem is valid. At the very least, we need to enforce strict mark-to-market payless rent a car in as many cases as we can a point I have argued in an earlier post.
Moreover, claiming Ramachandran provides a neurological explanation for Kuhnian payless rent a car paradigm shifts is over the edge. In the first place, I spent about three years of my life studying those issues, payless rent a car coming to the conclusion that, on the whole, the less said about Kuhnian payless rent a car paradigm shifts the better. More directly, Ramachandran s work would lead one to believe that after a certain point scientists payless rent a car should shift paradigms. In fact, as Kuhn documents, what happens is that the new paradigm wins when believers in the old one die off. It s the young, who have less invested in the old way, who make the shift. See Night Thoughts of a Classical Physicist.
I should add that I agree with your main point; several lines of argument show that the assumption of deliberate exploitation of the value of the implicit government guarantee is not necessary to explain that guarantee s role in the mess.
You re right. I thought of mentioning Ramachandran s critique of Trivers but decided against it because I wasn t leaning on a strict interpretation of Trivers conclusion. As Ramachandran mentions, self-deception has maladaptive consequences. But its not clear to me that the true believer banker is engaging in true self-deception given that he benefits in the short run. As I see it, the conclusion is more relevant for the knowing deceiver who has an uphill payless rent a car task competing with a true believer.

I have been married for a little over a year now. I first met my husband through church a few years prior to our marriage. After dating for almost 2 years he proposed. At that time, we were already going to premarital counseling to determine where we wanted to take this relationship. I had found out that he was lying to his former boss and manipulating her into giving him money. He had told her that he was raising his son (my son) alone, didn't have a job and asked her for money to pay his electric bill (which at the time I was paying). all inclusive family cruises All of which was a lie.He even sent her a picture of my son as collateral. This was after she already given him over $50k loan to pay off debt. He had been doing this for nearly a year before I found out! I was a single parent who worked very hard to support my children, all inclusive family cruises so to use us in that way felt like betrayal. I was ready to be done. But I agreed to continue the counseling with our pastor, he apologized and said he would stop his manipulation and begin repaying his boss. I eventually forgave him and we married months later. Afterward I was helping him with sorting through some debt documents and saw a court case granting him a divorce. I had already known that he had been married before, but this was not the wife I knew about. I find out that he had been married THREE times before me! I was devestated, both at the number of prior marriages and his deception. We were only a few months married at this point so of course, again with the constant apologies & forgiveness.
It's been almost a year since that day and I recently found out that he has not stopped all inclusive family cruises manipulating his former boss. He did send a couple of payment to repay the loans but he never stopped with the lies. After a few payment, he started telling her that he didn't have a job again and had moved back out of state to live with him mother, to convince her that he didn't have the money to repay her. At this time he was making over $190k a year and all of his debt was paid off!! He definitely had the money. The lies didn't stop there, he told her that he wasn't be able to spend Christmas with his kids (my kids) and that was only working part-time. all inclusive family cruises I am so disgusted with him! I am on the verge of emailing his former boss and disclosing all of his lies! I want to trust that God will reveal his ways but he's been doing this for nearly 3 years. all inclusive family cruises To make it even more pathetic, all inclusive family cruises his boss is an older (near elderly) all inclusive family cruises woman! No matter how wealthy a person all inclusive family cruises is, what gives someone the right to deceive all inclusive family cruises them and manipulate them out of their hard earned money. This woman was a single-mom (just like I was) who built a company from the ground up and now my husband wants to take from her?? I cannot believe I married someone with such little character and integrity. This is my first marriage and I married THIS person! Some people make look at all the other great things he does and overlook this one, but who can trust a deceiver as the leader of their household. He has been great with the children and an otherwise great husband, he even helps out in our church. But from what I've learned in life & relationships, it is only a matter of time before the deceiver/manipulator/abuser turns their wrath toward you. I know that I am not exempt from his lies. We split the household bills (he pays the rent, car insurance all inclusive family cruises & health) and he makes 3x as much as I, no car note, he has no debt, one child he pays support for but not enough to cripple his wallet. He works full-time AND receives retirement pay from military.
I am having a very difficult time trying all inclusive family cruises to understand why he is being so manipulative when we both have been so very blessed in our lives. It is such an ungrateful and selfish thing to do. His family of course has no clue about this and the only person I had entrusted was our pastor prior to the premarital counseling...when I thought it was over.
He is was is called a high functioning sociopath or psychopath. Unfortunately, there is no cure and the only thing you can do is get away and stay away from the person because they don't change, but they do get worse, and they will do things that you would consider unthinkable.
Just generally all inclusive family cruises read up on, and go to sites that deal with psychopaths (sometimes called all inclusive family cruises sociopaths). Learn all you can. What you'll find is that psychopaths lie, cheat, and manipulate to get what they want, and can never, never be trusted, all inclusive family cruises no matter what they say.
You were taken in by a clever con man. My ex wife did this to me. When we met, she pretended to be exactly the kind of woman I wanted, and to be religious, and the type that would make a good mother, etc.....but within 8 months of our marriage, it all came apart, and the real person came out...lying, manipulating, cheating, having no real religious beliefs (just pretending), having all inclusive family cruises no interest in raising children, and so much more. She wanted all inclusive family cruises to marry me, and she faked her way into it and got what she wanted.
I rarely write this advice, but here it is: divorce him immediately and never mind any reconcilliation attempts, since they are all con jobs as well. Get yourself, and your kids, away from him. I suggest you use what you know to restrict him to supervised visitation. Psychopaths should not be left with children. You may need a restraining order.
Sorry to be the bearer of such bad news. However, the good news is that a really good man is out there for you. After I divorced my wife I met my current wife, who is so kind and loving, and never does any of the crazy things my ex did. Yep, I'm happy. Just wish I had divorced her sooner.
Yes, you have a moral obligation to tell the people he is deceiving, especially those he is taking money from. However charming psychopaths seem, it's important to warn everyone they come in contact with, at church, too, of the facts. But most of all, protect yourself and your family.
I am so sorry that you're going through all inclusive family cruises this. I only want to support what OlderButWiser said. I know that to hear someone advise you to turn and run is so harsh, but, from what you have said, that is exactly all inclusive family cruises what you must do for you and for your children.
I was married for eleven years and had two beautiful children with the EXACT SAME type of sociopathic man. Looking back now, part of me knew what he was before I married him, but I so badly wanted my dream of a family to come true that I remained in denial for too long. Believe all inclusive family cruises me when I tell you that I know all the reasons that you are still there, but know this: You CAN NOT fix him. Your love will not change him. You are not being overly suspicious or paranoid . Neither you nor your children will benefit in any way from staying with him. The ONLY thing you can do is to separate yourself from him in every conceivable way. It is not your job to convince his family about what is wrong with him. They know whether all inclusive family cruises you believe that or not. It is not your job to try to get him help. You cannot. all inclusive family cruises Cut all ties, Kitkatt. Do it while you can.

I too, have had my deposit kept by David Ballard earlier this year. He also became abusive when I met up with him by chance discount walt disney world tickets at Santa Maria golf club, where I spoke to him face to face. I believe that his so called contacts that he uses are not worth the paper that they are written on. This is the typical action of what gives the Costa Del Sol bad press. I live here, and I wish people like David Ballard should go back to the place they come from.
This may sound a little naive but is there no documentation relating to the state of the vehicle when hired, and another signed declaration upon return?. discount walt disney world tickets If not, it s no wonder these car rental people try it on.
They didn t notice damage of that magnitude when he returned it ? ? ? They have to get in to park it, and it would have been obvious. Your conclusion, Holmes. It did not happen, Watson. They should be denunciado-ed for attempt deception.
I rented a car from goldcar for a weekend. On the internet the price was 30 euros but after fuel and additional driver, insurance it was 190 euros. discount walt disney world tickets I could not claim the half tank of fuel back that was charged at a high rate. This year I am going to run a car of my own in Spain and insure it there. I am always in fear of claims etc and if you pay for additional insurance it is very expensive so what is the point in being ripped off. I now hire from Europcar or Hertz if required. They may sound expensive at the start but they do not have all these con tricks such as all the others I have tried.
We usually rent 3-4 times a year when visiting our place in Andalucia, usually from the cheapest on the net. Always a scam going on somewhere, if not for exhorbitant full fuel tank prices, then for damage when returned. Amparo: I ve personal experience of rental staff refusing to check the car with me upon pick up ( If you don t like it, give me the keys back and rent from someone else. ), and also refusing to check the car when it is returned ( Don t worry, the insurance will cover any damage. ). We ve also been double dipped when a rental was hit by another driver who accepted full responsibility, and the agency collected from the insurers AS WELL AS keeping our deposit! And then the internet broker accepting no responsibility for withheld funds, saying that they will investigate but that these things can take a while (18 months later still waiting). Having your VISA number and a contract where you accept all liability discount walt disney world tickets whatever the cause is simply a licence to steal, as my bills clearly show. Spanish, German, English, they re all Car Rental Crooks .
The Olive Press are doing a good job here. As they have reported I also lost my deposit from Brian s Rent a Car. From my own investigation you can find similar stories on the Internet, for example on the Malaga Web Forum and also on the Trip Advisor site.
I d like to congratulate Mr Evans for his courage and tenacity in taking this action. discount walt disney world tickets It s time for David Ballard to realise that his scam is over. Rod Wigley said it best David Ballard should go back to the place he came from . I ll second that!
**dyemiller**. If the adage you get what you pay for does not apply to the car rental sector, then it would appear there is a brilliant business opportunity here for someone with a little capital and a sense of professionalism. And then the cowboys would sit up and take notice. I find it difficult to believe no-one fits the bill at the airport.
Whenever I visit the UK I always use Europcar and they don t get their hands on my credit card until I have the status report and they don t get their keys back until I have the return status report. And they have never quibbled.
Since this article was published I have seen statements from the company (Briansrentacar)co-owner Claiming that David Ballard did not make Comments to James Bryce that the people who have made representations to the company to dispute their version of Events are all LIARS.
Comments discount walt disney world tickets on Tripadvisor and Malagaweb show several problems with this company, However I now feel this answers those on the site as to who has been telling the truth and who has been telling porkies as one commented!
Rod signed a 12 month contract, discount walt disney world tickets payment discount walt disney world tickets 1st day of each month. then on the second month 2 hours after he was due to pay he informed us he could not pay and wanted to return the car without any notice and in breach the contract he signed.
He changes his story every year. Johnson dumped our car in the Gap garage discount walt disney world tickets in Arroyo on his way to hire another car at the airport. When the car was returned to our garage he was contacted to come inspect the damage on the car which he refused. He was sent photos of the damage and invoices which he ignored.
My company rented a car for me in Spain continuously for 6 years, I needed to change the car every month and renew the contract. We used all the major companies depending on which one was cheapest at any given time. You could say I know a thing or two about renting discount walt disney world tickets in Spain.
In reply to Ballard s comment about my initial contract. The truth is that I signed an initial 3 month contract which expired on at the end of March 2012. ( I still have this paper work.) I paid in full to the end of March 2012. I never signed a twelve month contract.I never recieved another contact, so no contract existed. I simply told him I wanted to return the car a month later. He really is a complete liar as we all know. Having paid the March rental and been given a receipt for it, he had the nerve to ask for it again. His records reflect how bad the business is.
No ,he has instead committed fraud by signing a declaration with his credit discount walt disney world tickets card company that he did not sign the slip, receive any service or have any dispute regarding the service and now he brags on the internet he has claimed his money back from his credit card company illegally-
does this not show what type of person he really is. We are waiting for the court proceedings he has promised discount walt disney world tickets so that we can prove our case before discount walt disney world tickets a judge showing the contract Evans signed with no drivers chair broken.
discount walt disney world tickets Paranoid, Johnson has not issued legal proceedings in 2 years after he lost his case in arbitration with the Spanish reclamation office, WHY!!!! he too knows he has no chance to prove his case in front of a judge. We only wish he would so we can prove our case with all the photos invoices and emails.
Rod Wigley is typical of the costs del sol conmen, he did not pay his hire contract on time and now posts a pack of statements which are totally untrue, discount walt disney world tickets and he too slanders discount walt disney world tickets the name of David Ballard without any legal recourse.
I would just like to clarify a couple of points raised by Mr Richardson. Although I have claimed back the money wrongfully taken for my parents account, I provided to the credit card company all the documentation I was given at the time of hire from Mr David Ballard. So the Royal Bank of Scotland fraud unit made the claim on our behalf. Do you think they would have taken that action had I not been able to prove my case ? I think not Mr Richardson. You also forgot to mention you representative discount walt disney world tickets Monica discount walt disney world tickets who took the vehicle from me personally at Malaga airport and passed the vehicle all in order. From a legal point of view the aim was always to recover monies you took unlawfully. First part of that process was through the credit discount walt disney world tickets card company who issued payment, my next actions had that failed would have been to issue you and your company with legal proceedings. However as you well know you lost your case with RBS. And my parents got their money back eventually. In relation to your claims that you will send out documentation from your clients accounts discount walt disney world tickets via e-mail to anyone who wants to see it. Well that is a direct breach of the data protection act. And not an action to be recommended. The dealings I have had personally with your company have left a bitter taste. You appear to have more upset customers than any other car hire company in Malaga. Can they all be wrong Mr Richardson or just merely Liars as your partner put it. Anyway my advise would still be to avoid your company at all costs and as I stated to James Bruce in the original article, if this stops anyone else being treated as you have treated us then Iam happy with the outcome. Regards. David Evans.
1. It is not your parents account or if it is you fraudulently presented the card on the contract you signed, you gave the credit card on the contract you signed discount walt disney world tickets on the strict legal basis it was your credit card account. You signed the contract and the credit card slip in your own capacity. If it is your parents account you would be required to notify us and they would be required to sign together with you
2. You did not provide to the credit card company RBS all the documents, nor did you inform them there was a dispute, I spoke to the Royal Bank of Scotland regarding the card you provided discount walt disney world tickets to us, but they told me the chargeback was claimed on the basis of "not authorised payment" They were not aware the payment was in dispute discount walt disney world tickets or they would not claim back. We have sent your signed slip ,contract and damage invoices to RBS and they have promised to review discount walt disney world tickets your fraudulent claim back.
The contract you signed states if there is any dispute relating to charges discount walt disney world tickets on the contract the matter will be adjudicated by Spanish court or arbitration with AECA and will not be charged back to the credit discount walt disney world tickets card. You signed this contract and then ignored your legal liability under the terms of this contract.
3…The royal Bank of Scotland are not an arbitration service and they were shocked when I told them you were claiming they had all the documents in this dispute and they were arbitrating the dispute on a rentacar contract according to you.
Do you honestly believe and ask all the internet to accept, a young girl sent to meet you in departures where the car has to be removed within 2 minutes can inspect a car and approve its condition when you took 35 minutes discount walt disney world tickets on receiving discount walt disney world tickets the car to inspect it and you did not specify discount walt disney world tickets on the contract the driv

The short answer is, "Because it avoids a lot of hassle and potentially avoids paying twice for the same coverage." And it's one area where I do not always agree with the conventional wisdom of consumerist travel writers.
No matter what sort of insurance you're considering, you find an important difference between the two types of coverage: Primary insurance covers your claim regardless of what other coverage you might have, and the primary insurer is first in line to pay whatever bills may be due. With primary insurance, you don't have to involve any other insurance source or deal with any other insurance representatives in the settlement of a claim.
Secondary insurance covers only what you can't recover first from other sources your own insurance, travel suppliers, or whatever. You must first make all the claims available to you; only then can you claim on secondary insurance to cover anything else.
All of us consumer travel writers agree that a rental car company's collision damage waiver/loss damage waiver, or CDW/LDW, is grossly overpriced and provides a fat markup for rental companies. That's why the rental companies push it so hard occasionally resorting to deceptive claims to scare you away from alternatives.
Most consumer meaning of hotel california lyrics writers also recommend flatly that you rely on your credit or charge card to cover you for collision damage to a rental car a "free" benefit that most premium cards now offer. I no longer agree. The problem is that, for rentals in the U.S. and Canada, most cards provide only secondary coverage. So if you damage a rental car, you must first make a claim against your regular auto insurance. Making such a claim means more than just the extra paperwork: The damage claim will count against your driving record, and the amount of the claim will probably be much higher than had you inflicted the same damage to your own car. The result, for most of you, will be higher rates for the foreseeable future, to say nothing of possible protracted negotiations between meaning of hotel california lyrics your insurance company and credit card issuer.
Instead, these days I recommend that you rent with a card that provides primary coverage. All Diners meaning of hotel california lyrics Club cards offer primary insurance meaning of hotel california lyrics as standard, and you can convert the usual secondary AmEx coverage to primary by paying a flat fee of $24.95 per rental ($17.95 for Californians), regardless of duration. Obviously, that's not a good deal for a one-day rental, but it makes sense for longer meaning of hotel california lyrics rentals.
As far as I know, only a very few MasterCard and Visa cards offer primary insurance as standard, and I know of no issuing banks that offer a conversion option such as AmEx does. So if you use Discover , MasterCard or Visa, you either have to roll the bones with the risks of relying on secondary coverage or paying the outrageous price for CDW.
Fortunately, when you rent in Europe, you don't have to worry about your card's primary/secondary distinction. Because your own auto insurance almost certainly doesn't cover you outside the U.S. and Canada, all coverage in other countries is de facto primary.
If you rent frequently in the U.S., the primary collision meaning of hotel california lyrics coverage is probably reason enough to apply for a Diners Club card which acts as an ordinary MasterCard in most other ways. You'll cover the annual cost of the card in just a few rentals. For my own travels, I use AmEx with the conversion option meaning of hotel california lyrics for rentals in the U.S.
The other area where you're likely to encounter secondary insurance meaning of hotel california lyrics is with the medical component of travel insurance on foreign trips. Many of my colleagues simply recommend that you buy the "least expensive policy that meets your needs," a recommendation meaning of hotel california lyrics I formerly made as well. But not now. Most travel medical policies provide meaning of hotel california lyrics secondary coverage only, which leads to two problems if you run up doctor or hospital meaning of hotel california lyrics charges while you're traveling:
Even though your regular medical insurance covers you outside the U.S., you must pay the bill yourself and claim the reimbursement meaning of hotel california lyrics later. Because foreign medical institutions typically demand payment up front, you may have to come up with a really big cash outlay on the spot.
Yes, it's a bit of a stretch to include trip-cancellation in this primary-secondary discussion, but some of the issues are very similar. meaning of hotel california lyrics And here, my colleagues are not unanimous: Some recommend that you buy comprehensive travel meaning of hotel california lyrics insurance on every trip and some wonder if it's worth it . Here I come down firmly in the middle:
meaning of hotel california lyrics Almost all trip-cancellation insurance is secondary, meaning meaning of hotel california lyrics that you can claim only the amount you spend out-of-pocket after you claim all of the refunds that are available to you. For this reason, I recommend trip-cancellation only when you have a big up-front payment for a cruise or vacation rental, for example that entails a hefty cancellation penalty or maybe allows no refunds at all. You can never be certain something won't unexpectedly require you to cancel or change a trip, and unless you're willing to walk away from your nonrefundable advance payments, you need insurance.
Most trip-cancellation policies limit refunds to "covered" reasons typically medical, plus a few additional circumstances. However, whether your reason is covered or not can sometimes lead to protracted arguments. For this reason, I recommend that if you buy trip-cancellation, you should buy an "any reason" policy, which avoids any arguments.
Secondary limitations also apply to other travel insurance components baggage loss or damage, delay expenses, and such. You can claim only what you can't first recover from the airline/cruise line involved or from your own personal property insurance. That's why I recommend against buying all those minor coverage, unless they come as part of the least expensive meaning of hotel california lyrics policy you can find that covers your basic medical and cancellation needs.
meaning of hotel california lyrics Clearly, meaning of hotel california lyrics whether you're talking about rental car or travel insurance, you typically have to pay more for primary coverage than you'd pay for secondary. But with secondary coverage, you may find that your policy winds up paying you nothing at all to say nothing about the arguments that can involve you. My recommendation is, "Go primary or forget it."

A new survey, conducted the day before Valentine's Day, reveals loved-up shoppers were big on ideas

A new survey, conducted the day before Valentine's Day, reveals loved-up shoppers were big on ideas but short on cash, with most hunting out bargains and mobile users waiting until the last minute to book a romantic night away.
Your Valentine's gift probably cost less than you think. More than two-thirds (69%) of the 2,300 shoppers surveyed by Priceline.com admitted they had shopped for a bargain for their loved one this year.
A third (35%) of participants in Priceline's first class airline tickets survey had planned ahead and purchased gifts a week or more in advance. However, 38% waited until a couple of days before the big day and 9% shopped on Valentine's Day itself.
Priceline's survey also revealed that shoppers armed with the company's hotel booking app made their Valentine's arrangements at the last minute. Three-quarters (74%) of mobile users booking hotel rooms did so within 24 hours, or less, of checking in. Many waited until Valentine's Day itself to make a booking, of which 69% booked before 2pm and a seat-of-the-pants 11% made bookings after 9pm. Those who booked at the very last minute tended to book hotels that were close to home - 51% booked rooms in hotels that were no farther than 15 miles away.
The time between booking a Valentine's destination and the date of travel is getting shorter, found ebookers.com. Today, 22% of hotel bookings for a romantic break are left until less than three days before first class airline tickets travel.
"As people are leading busier lives it's not surprising that we're seeing bookings left until the last minute," says Jessica Craker, UK Marketing Manager, ebookers.com. "There can be a lot of pressure to get it right on Valentine's Day and we understand customers just want it to be an easy decision when booking a romantic holiday."

Yes #1 commenter, he should have enjoyed the many years of accolades still to come, if he stayed retired. Now I fear he may be doing himself a disservice by thinking he still has it. Like Brett Favre from the NFL, sometimes athletes stay too long, I know the attention is hard to let go of. Bernie on the other hand, has stayed in control for far, far too many years and now could bring F1 s reputation down with him. Been hearing rumors over the net for awhile about his dealings.

Often in the online world, customers fall into a rabbit hole of frustrating lowest cost airline tickets live chat sessions with anonymous customer service representatives who offer canned, impersonal lowest cost airline tickets and often comical responses to complex customer questions. Or, customers are required to fill out and submit lowest cost airline tickets contact forms in order to get an answer (or an annoying phone call) hours or days later, rather than at the moment when their need to know is immediate.
Thousands of people may visit your website every day, but only a fraction of them make it into your CRM system (which enables you to manage and automate relationships, interactions and contact data). What about those visitors who don't get captured by CRM? How do you count and relate to the vast universe of prospects you know nothing about, but who obviously have some reason to be interested in your products and services?
The simple answer is: You don't. In the words of comedian and philosopher Louis C.K., "because things that are not can't be." You can spend a lot of money on marketing, lowest cost airline tickets but unless website visitors are willing to provide their contact details and other information related to their product needs, current Internet technology (including live chat) gives you no way to interact with these potential customers and convert them into active prospects -- or at least to get them to cross the chasm from what might be termed "a pre-CRM state" into a lead in your CRM system.
In other words, there's no way to anticipate a prospect who is not yet entered into your CRM system and build a relationship with them. Obviously, you can't reach out and interact with potential buyers prior to having any knowledge about them. Or is it so obvious?
In the offline world, it's easy. Prospective customers walk into stores. The proprietors know nothing about them. Sales staff greet them and ask if they have any questions. These initial meetings lead to a process of discovery as the salespersons delve more deeply into the customers' need states. The customers may be willing to share personal information. Salespersons establish their authority to help the customers make the right choices and build trust and rapport.
In the online world, unknown customers are typically herded lowest cost airline tickets into CRM corrals, often against their will. They have to give something first (contact and personal information) before they can get something back (information that can help them make a decision from an agent they feel they can trust). That's the opposite of what happens in the offline world, where merchants lowest cost airline tickets give first and gather customer information later.
Often in the online world, customers fall into a rabbit hole of frustrating live chat sessions lowest cost airline tickets with anonymous customer service representatives (CSRs) who offer canned, impersonal and often comical responses to complex customer questions. Or, customers are required to fill out and submit contact forms in order to get an answer (or an annoying phone call) hours or days later, rather than at the moment when their need to know is immediate.
For many types of products and services, lowest cost airline tickets marketing can stimulate awareness and create a customer need where one may not have existed before (think smartphones and tablet computers). But marketing can only do so much, particularly for high-value products and services people lowest cost airline tickets buy infrequently and for reasons driven not by marketing but by milestones, events or need states in their lives.
Someone's roof blows off during a tornado. The miles are adding up on the car. Retirement is approaching and with it the need to get serious about investments, banking or financial planning services. lowest cost airline tickets Or someone lowest cost airline tickets is contemplating a dream cruise to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Prospective lowest cost airline tickets customers may be in these need states only once every few years, or once a decade, lowest cost airline tickets or even once in a lifetime. And getting their attention while they are in these states often requires lowest cost airline tickets early and meaningful interactions with seasoned, professional salespeople, not automated Web interactions or simplistic live chat sessions.
The irony is that websites and CRM systems often hide these real live sales people -- who are still the greatest asset for many of types of businesses -- behind a curtain of automation that prevents potential customers from getting meaningful responses early in their deliberations. Early, when they are searching for information and have the greatest number of questions, and early, when sales professionals can engage customers in a meaningful dialogue, thus increasing the potential for a successful outcome at the end of the sales cycle, however long or complex it may be.
wrote Robert Williams in this publication nearly four years ago. "We can't tell what they really want as they click through our Web pages, as they search for information, or as they get halfway through filling out an online form.
"While we can gather statistics and analyze, draw conclusions, and decide what we think our customers want, we have not really engaged them," he continued. "They do not fully understand what we are offering, lowest cost airline tickets and we cannot tell if they are satisfied or simply frustrated lowest cost airline tickets and confused. More importantly, we haven't taken full advantage of the opportunity to interact with them when they are there, at our site, just waiting for us to really engage."
So how do you really engage your prospects when they are a pre-CRM state and you know virtually nothing about them? Exploiting the possibilities of social networks like Twitter and Facebook, along with tools like live chat certainly help, but these aren't substitutes for real-time one-to-one interactions between trusted agents and potential customers with questions -- interactions based on the customer's terms rather than terms dictated by whatever technology is in use. But given the state of technology today, is such a thing even possible?
Maybe not completely, but it's possible to come pretty close. Even today, there are ways to put a "human face" on a company using the very same Internet technology that in the past tended to dehumanize its Web presence. Even today, it's possible to let customers choose whom to engage with (by presenting them with profiles of a company's best people), when to engage (by making these profiles easy to find yet nonintrusive), where to engage (by making lowest cost airline tickets the profiles portable, lowest cost airline tickets so they can function on any website or device) and how to engage (by offering options such as online chat, voice, video chat and email).
It's not quite the same as greeting customers in the offline world. There is no face-to-face contact or warm handshake, lowest cost airline tickets but progress is being made. Through the use of audio and video tools, it will soon be possible to interact with customers in a way that closely lowest cost airline tickets mirrors the way we engage them in the offline word: through lowest cost airline tickets meaningful one-to-one personal interaction.
lowest cost airline tickets These digital tools will help improve initial customer interactions, build pre-CRM relationships, and reinforce the usefulness of CRM by letting sales staff swim upstream to greet the customer in real-time at the moment of interest.

Target recently taught the online retail world a valuable lesson about the importance of cloud computing, especially its elasticity. Its experiment also demonstrated the value of social networking and the importance of maintaining positive customer sentiment. But while the rest of us can walk away from the episode with a free bit of education, the lesson may have cost Target quite a lot.
A DoJ document obtained by the ACLU details how long various U.S. cellphone companies keep track of user information like call details, lowest cost airline tickets which towers were used to relay a signal, bill copies and IP session information. The revelation has raised concerns among privacy advocates lowest cost airline tickets over the security of that information and how long it's kept on record.
One of the more intriguing features of the Kindle Fire, Amazon's new tablet, is Silk, the Web browser that makes its debut on the device. Silk, like the Opera browser, uses a split architecture to put some of the work on Amazon's own back-end servers. That's raised some questions about user privacy, though Amazon insists browsing activity is aggregated and not linked to a user identity.
Brick-and-mortar store owners don't erect hurdles for customers to jump over to reach the cash register, and Web-based businesses shouldn't either. Keep the purchase and sign-up processes simple. At most, include three steps, lowest cost airline tickets such as select products, review your purchase and pay for your purchase. Let your customers know where they are in the enrollment process at all times so they can see how easy signing-up will be.
