An airline goes on strike and your flight is delayed or cancelled. Your car hire is waiting for you to pick it up and you do not even know when your next flight is. Here is how to manage your car hire booking when you arrive later than planned.
Remember to note down your flight number on your car hire booking. When your flight arrives late, the rental company representatives will see the exact arrival time on the arrivals timetable and wait for you. If you have a non-direct flight, provide the number of the flight arriving at your car hire destination.
If your flight is delayed and you know the new arrival time, please call the rental company to advise of your new pick up time. The supplier s telephone number is provided on your voucher under pick up info . Usually, if the delay is only a few hours, the rental company will wait for you with the vehicle. If you are arriving the next day and the supplier is not willing to accept your voucher, please call us. We will rebook your car hire for the next day.
If your flight is cancelled and you want to cancel your car hire as well, please call us. We need to be advised about your booking cancellation in order to be able to issue a refund. When your flight is cancelled due to officially acknowledged Force Majeure or strikes, a 30 euros administration fee will be applied.
Cancellations are free if you advise Auto Europe 48 hours before the pick-up time; if you cancel your booking less than 48 hours before the pick up, a 3 days hire cancellation fee will be applied. If you, however, send us an email or call us after your pick up date, there will be no refund. Therefore, please always call us as soon as possible.
