I'm more concerned for the people losing their jobs due to the mass firings and layoffs or the peopl

I was just watching the news and they mentioned that a whole row of seats came loose on a flight from Boston to Miami. They had to land the plane in NY. It wasn't an isolated incident either because it happened on 2 or 3 other American Airline planes.
While at the Aruba airport hawaii hotel spa on the way home I ran into a couple I met on an American flight to Aruba last year. I think we took one of the last direct flights to Aruba. They mentioned on this trip they flew American to Miami to go to Aruba but there were delays because of the pilots on strike so they switched to Jet blue to go home.

Thought I read somewhere that USAirways is trying to merger with AA and if they do they will keep AA name instead of USAir, but first AA is trying to come out of bankrupcy...if they are having these kind of problems hawaii hotel spa though,,,,,,I wonder if they can survive on their own ???

As bad as having your vacation hawaii hotel spa screwed up there are somewhat bigger stakes involved for a few thousand people.

The CEO of US Airways wants to put the two together to create an airline the size of Delta or United. The CEO of AA wants to reduce the size of the airline and outsource more of the flying to regional airlines in smaller airplanes. If they do not merge, US and AA will both be at a disadvantage hawaii hotel spa compared to United and Delta, but should be able to survive until the next major crisis.

thanks for the update chadd....i know usair with the help of america west was finally able to stay in the black...some of the cost was at our expense although I don't really care about not getting a bag of pretzels with my drink. the loss of many flights out of Pittsburgh hurt worse....I also realize the county had a lot to do with that....

I am totally against job actions that have an impact on innocent people, especially families with young kids. You don't like your job? Quit. Don't reduce yourself into being a terrorist. When you do, you have no sympathy from me, only disdain.
