Passengers flying from or into Los Angeles will be happy to know that the airport is undergoing massive renovations. Most recently, United Airlines announced plans for a massive renovation of its 3 terminals at LAX. With over $425 million committed from the city airport fund thus far, United will substantially rebuild terminals 6,7 and 8. The plan is to streamline security checkpoint ques and choke points, eliminating the current need for some passengers to lineup for TSA screening on a pedestrian overpasses. This makes getting to the airport with LAX Car Service faster and more convenient for affected passengers.
United Airlines plans on expanding its facilities for elite passengers as well, with plans to construct a 29,000 square foot lounge for First Class passengers, United Club Members and Star Alliance Gold Members in terminal 7.
Funding is coming from the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), federal security grants and city airport improvements accounts. The city agency collects funds through tickets sales and car rental taxes for airport improvement. Several other airlines are in the midst of improvements as well. Delta Air Lines is receiving $200 million to improve terminal 5, Alaska airlines used $300 million for its now completed all inclusive aruba vacation packages renovation of Terminal 3 and Southwest Airlines all inclusive aruba vacation packages has $400 million plans for the improvement of Terminal 1.
