The Motel 6 in Downtown is walking distance to the Dome and has free parking, something almost every other hotel in Atlanta charges at least $20/day for. Room wasn't extravagant but then, I wasn't there to spend time in a room. If all you need is a place to store your stuff, liberty travel com crash at night and use as a meeting liberty travel com point....that be the place. It's literally right next door to the Hilton.
liberty travel com And I have to say, Buckhead was a big disappointment...much prefer Virginia Highlands or Midtown for partying. liberty travel com I lived in Atlanta in the late 90's to about 2001 Buckhead was hoppin' then but it's a shell of what I remember it being. The Highlands were and are underrated, liberty travel com IMO.
Buckhead is where it is at. Tons of places to go. Look out for the cover charge liberty travel com every time you step into a new establishment. I think that they have a Jelly Rolls down there (Dueling piano bar) if that is what you like. If not, tons of bars to work to and from amongst some other bar-type places.
Dante's Down the Hatch is the best fondue in town. It is near Lennox and Phipps in Buckhead. You can sit inside the pirate ship inside the restaurant and listen to a jazz band. There is an extra charge for that, but it is worth it.
See if there are any Dwarf Houses around. They are sit-down Chick-fil-A establishments that serve breakfast (more than biscuits), hamburgers, straight fries, steaks (not high quality), baked taters, and hot browns.
We are staying at the Holiday Inn Airport South Room's $75 a night and the shuttle takes and pick you up at the Airport Marta station. liberty travel com That's liberty travel com what we did for the SECCG and it was easy. Round trip Marta is $4.
Not as close as I wanted to stay, but we were able to stay 2 nights for the price of the hotel we could have stayed 1 night downtown...and this is a nice hotel. Besides, MARTA will get us to wherever we need to go easily and without liberty travel com a headache.
I picked up 2 rooms at the Northeast Hilton (near Peachtree) on Priceline (name your price). $39 per room for a 3.5 hotel. A little further than I wanted to be but the price is right and the hotel is nice.
