The size of the ship alone was something we had never experienced before, and we would do it again just to experience all there is to do on the ship alone. It was like being in a floating resort. Alaska is the place to see.
Dirk: The decision whether to take the same cruise, or to do the eleven day cruisetour was a very tough decision. My wife Barbara cheap hotels boston had already said that she would do the seven day cruise again even if we never got off the boat.

Dirk: When my wife booked the first cruise we took in 2011, she informed me that we were going on the Holland America Cruise ship, the Volendam. The ship was well staffed, and we were treated with the greatest of respect on the ship we were on. Some of the staff members were calling us Mr. and Mrs. Pool. One young fellow, in one of the lounges, called me Uncle Dirk, and my wife Auntie Barbara.
When you are not used to being served the way we were served on the Volendam, it makes you desire to cruise with Holand America again. I even got to chat with the Captain for a few minutes, and that to me was special.
Dirk: Since we will be spending most of our time on land tours, with the train, buses, and a special paddle wheeler boat, I would say that sighting wild life and all the beautiful scenery will be a great enjoyment of this part of the trip.
What I really like as well is the fact that we leave the driving to someone else while we just sit back and relax. It was very hard for me to leave the ship when we went the first time. Weeks later, I was still reliving the experience we had on the cruise.
I believe that, with my vivid imagination, our eleven day cruisetour will be just as hard to get out of my mind once it is over. The excitement from the last trip in 2011 is still fresh in my mind and I can hardly wait for June 11, 2013 to arrive. I m already counting down the days, and we are still in September 2012.
