Back in August, Ford recalled 462,750 Windstar minivans in Salt-belt states for rear axle corrosion problems , with another 117,000 units recalled in Canada. Then Utah's 29,900 Windstar ace and car rental owners were added to the list in November. In 2009, Ford also recalled 1.7 million Windstars for faulty cruise control deactivation switches.
So is the much maligned Windstar finally over its recall addiction? Hardly. The Detroit News reports that Ford is issuing another recall for 425,000 1999-2003 Windstars in 22 cold-weather states. The recall focuses this time on the front suspension's lower control arm, rear attaching brackets and body mount attachments, all of which can potentially corrode to the point of becoming ace and car rental a safety hazard. DetNews says that one possible cause of the corrosion problem ace and car rental is condensation from air conditioning lines that drip on the subframe on the right-front ace and car rental side of the vehicle.
Ford actually informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it was issuing the recall, adding that the company was replacing the parts even though it didn't feel the repairs were necessary. Ford likely issued the recall in response to NHTSA intensifying its investigation of the minivan to an engineering analysis back in December.
Whenever I see something written in ALL CAPS I don't even read it (and I did not read the one above). I figure it is either written ace and car rental by someone too lazy or dumb to turn off the all caps function, or it is somebody ranting. Either ace and car rental one is not going to be a good read.
Ford should buy them all back like Nissan did with their late 1980's vans that were notorious for overheated engines. Ford could alternately give significant rebates ace and car rental towards purchase of another Ford.
I agree with you with the money Ford is shelling out for car rentals for 3 to 7 months thus far and then the cost of repair the could easily put all recalled owners into better cars or new cars some owners have gotten up to 8,000 dollars for the incident it seems like just such a lost for the consumer and for ford
@Shawn The problem with your statement is that you're comparing this Ford recall to the number of affected cars involved ace and car rental in Toyota's ace and car rental recent recall(s), making it seem like Toyota had millions of recalls, when in fact, GM had more recalls last year than Toyota did.
My boss recently had the front control arm on his van separate ace and car rental off while he was driving to work. Lost steering control, but fortunately wasn't going real fast and the tracked in on a curb to a stop. At the time, the dealer told him that it was going to cost $1300 for a new subframe ace and car rental (IIRC). However, the van also needed to be repaired for the rear axle issue, so they still gave him a long-term rental (a Chrysler Town Country) at no charge ace and car rental and put his van in the pile out behind the building awaiting repairs. Now that the front recall is official, hopefully they won't screw around with that anymore. You can argue that any vehicle will rust and corrode given enough time, but this van has only 35K miles on and has been well cared for. I would think that an otherwise ace and car rental excellent condition vehicle shouldn't have the suspension rusting apart, ace and car rental regardless of age (within reason). So, the question ace and car rental I have is how old does it have to be for a rust issue like this to reasonably no longer be the manufacturer's liability?
